Asian and Pacific Islander narratives are important! The marginalization of our community is often tied to being made invisible, so it's important that our students see themselves in the materials they read. We're one of many organizations that are pushing for changes for our state's ELA standards because we believe that every student benefits when they have see stories that reflect the multitude of identities in the state.

The State Board of Education committee recommends revising ELA reading standards to include texts from diverse cultures and perspectives.
