This morning, we were pleased to welcome Dr. Jenny McCormack Walker, Director of Leadership Texarkana, as our guest speaker.

Dr. Walker shared exciting updates about Leadership Texarkana, including new programs and initiatives designed to develop leaders, strengthen connections, and create a lasting impact across our community. We were honored to host a Back-to-School Luncheon today for the amazing teachers and staff at TISD-Nash Elementary!

As a small token of our appreciation, each teacher received a gift card to help purchase classroom supplies for the new school year.

We are grateful for our partnership with Nash Elementary and the incredible work their faculty and staff do to invest in the next generation. We wish everyone a fantastic school year!

This morning's program featured Chloe Wardlaw and Amber Adams, founders of Split Vending.

Inspired by their passion for promoting tourism in Texarkana USA, Chloe and Amber created an innovative business that makes it easy for visitors to take home a piece of our community. Through Split Vending, tourists can purchase Texarkana themed merchandise and souvenirs from conveniently located vending machines throughout the area.

Their creative idea earned 1st Place in the 2025 Pitch It Texarkana competition, turning a vision into a growing local business.

Thank you, Chloe and Amber, for sharing your entrepreneurial journey with us and for investing in the future of Texarkana tourism. We wish you continued success as Split Vending grows!

As we close out another Rotary year, we'd like to take a moment to recognize and thank our outgoing president, Megan McMahen for her outstanding leadership.

Throughout the past year, Megan has truly embodied Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self," leading with humility, dedication, and a genuine heart for serving others. She has also embraced this year's Rotary International them "Unite for Good," bringing our members together as we worked to make a positive impact in our community.

Thank you, Megan, for your commitment, your leadership, and the many ways you've strengthened our club. Your service has made a lasting difference, and we're grateful for all you've done.

We are incredibly honored to have been recognized as TISD-Nash Elementary's 2025–2026 VIPS Volunteer of the Year!

This recognition is a reminder of what can happen when schools, community organizations, businesses, and volunteers work together with a shared purpose. Strong community partnerships create stronger schools, stronger families, and a stronger Texarkana.

Thank you to Nash Elementary for this honor and for allowing us to serve alongside you. We are proud to support students, encourage educators, and continue living out Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self.

Together, we can make a lasting impact on our community.
