Another one in the books.

The Bowie County Dive Team was glad to assist Cass County and Texas Parks & Wildlife with a vehicle recovery at Piney Point today.

Good coordination between everyone involved made for a smooth recovery from the water to the ramp.

Always a pleasure working alongside professionals who know their job, work together, and get it done.

Glad we could be of service.

🚗💧 Vehicle Recovery — Bringle Lake

Yesterday afternoon, Bowie County Dive Team was dispatched to assist the Texarkana, TX Police Department with a vehicle recovery on the south side of Bringle Lake.

We arrived on scene around 3:15 PM, and our divers had the vehicle located and out of the water in about 15 minutes. Recovery was complete and wrapped up by 4:00 PM.

Big thanks to Baker's Towing & Recovery and the Texarkana PD — always a pleasure working alongside you both. Professional, prepared, and easy to coordinate with from start to finish.

And yes — that's a full-grown alligator that decided to keep an eye on the recovery while our diver was in the water. Just another day on the job for the Bowie County Dive Team. 🐊

Congratulations to the Bowie County Dive Team's newest Certified Public Safety Divers!

This weekend marked an important milestone for our team. For the first time in nearly 10 years, we welcomed a new group of Certified Public Safety Divers into the Bowie County Dive Team.

It was truly an honor to spend the weekend assisting, mentoring, and helping guide these new divers through the course. Having gone through this training myself a decade ago, it was rewarding to see the next generation push themselves, support one another, and earn the certification they worked so hard for.

To our newest divers—congratulations. You've earned your place on this team. The certification is just the beginning. We look forward to serving alongside you as we continue protecting and supporting our community.

A very special and heartfelt thank you goes to Chris Sutherland , our Safety Officer and PADI Public Safety Diver Instructor. Quite simply, we wouldn't be where we are today without your dedication. The countless hours you've invested over the years, your leadership, and your commitment to building this program have shaped the Bowie County Dive Team into what it is today.

Thank you for everything you've done—and continue to do—for this team and every diver who comes through this program.

Welcome to the team. 🤿

In Remembrance — Paul Dean Beard
October 13, 1971 – March 4, 2026

The Bowie County Dive Team is heartbroken to share the loss of Paul Dean Beard — one of our originals, and one of the best people we've had the privilege of working alongside.

Paul was a little quirky — but honestly, that's what made him Paul. He was steady, trustworthy, and the kind of teammate who made you feel better about what you were about to do . That's not a small thing in this line of work. That matters.

We're going to miss him every time we gear up.

Into the Black We Shall Go.

Rest easy, Paul. You earned it!
