A big thank you to our Bowie County Dive Team members who came out and participated in National Night Out last night!
We spend a lot of our time training and preparing to respond when our community needs us, but nights like this give us the opportunity to meet the community under much better circumstances.
One of the highlights of the evening was letting the kids get a hands-on look at some of the equipment we use. Several got to try on a diver’s full-face mask and learn how we put it on and use it underwater. The response was pretty consistent:
“That’s heavy!”
Yep. We know. 😂 And that's just one piece of the equipment.
We noticed quite a few parents stopping to take pictures throughout the evening, and that's exactly what events like National Night Out are about — giving kids and families a chance to meet the people behind their local public safety organizations, ask questions, see the equipment, and maybe learn something they didn't know before.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit with us, and a personal thank you to my Teammates who gave their time to represent the Bowie County Dive Team and the community we serve.
