Thank you to Lion Joe T for sprucing up our eyeglasses donation box at the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library. Over the many years, we have collected tens of thousands of eyeglasses that ended up with folks around the world in need of glasses. Please be reminded that we now accept hearing aids also.

We hear that Wakefield Running Company still has four openings in their Blessing for Beginners Clinic starting next Saturday, the 30th. Those spots come with a bib! Call them at 401-782-8353 to secure your spot (and get a bib).

Train for the 10 mile Blessing of the Fleet Road Race in Narragansett with the beginner-focused training plan that will get you to the start injury-free! Runners receive on-course training, injury screening, product samples, a race day shirt, a gift certificate to the store, and many other perks!

The Narragansett Lions Club is proud to support our public safety officials. Thank you to the men and women of the Narragansett Police Department

This week, we honor the brave men and women who wear the badge and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

National Police Week, established in 1962 by President Kennedy and Congress, serves as a time to recognize the courage, dedication, and commitment of law enforcement officers across our nation — especially those who gave their lives protecting others.

On Wednesday, May 13, the 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil will be held in honor of the fallen officers whose names have been added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Please join us this week as we remember the heroes we have lost, support the families they left behind, and thank the officers who continue to serve each and every day.

While we are very busy planning for our ever growing Blessing of the Fleet Festival and Race, our giving to the local community continues. One of our latest contributions was $5,000 to PDCC's Dinner Table which provides well-balanced meals twice a week to local residents. They do great work!

Meals prepared and delivered to local residents twice weekly. Sit down dinner on Tuesdays. Call to request a place on the list.
