Downtown Muskogee was busy this weekend! 🌟
Main Street Muskogee had the honor of hosting two tours of downtown for fellow Main Streeters visiting from across the country ahead of the Main Street Now Conference, which is being held this week in Tulsa. Thousands of communities, Main Streeters, municipalities, and economic development organizations from across the country are gathering there to learn new tools and ideas to bring back to their hometowns.
On Saturday, we welcomed guests from Wyoming, Colorado, and Maine, and had the opportunity to show off our wonderful downtown and the work happening here every day.
On Sunday, we hosted an even larger group representing communities from Detroit, Idaho, New Orleans, Iowa, and many more places across the country. We were also joined by Jonita Mullins, who helped provide incredible historical context about the buildings and places that make Muskogee what it is today. This group was also among the first to get a look at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame project, visit historic homes, stop by the Three Rivers Museum, explore local businesses, visit the beautiful Roxy Theater, learn more about our upcoming Broadway District streetscaping project, and take in the beauty of Honor Heights Park.
By the end of the weekend, both groups left with a deeper appreciation for Muskogee’s heritage, its continued growth, and why our community truly is the place to be. ❤️
👏 A big round of applause to our amazing Main Street Muskogee volunteers who helped make these tours a success. Your time, energy, and hospitality helped show visitors what makes our community so special.
📸 More photos are coming soon as we continue editing the images captured by our photographer this weekend—stay tuned!
