The Main Street Muskogee mission is simple. It is to return the heart and soul to downtown Muskogee. We invite everyone to join on us on our mission.

Main Streets and historic downtowns are the places of childhood memories. They tell a story about the hopes, dreams and aspirations of a community. Downtown Muskogee speaks to the grandeur our founders had for the future of our town. One of the largest historic downtowns in the state, it spans a ten block area. Revitalizing this large a space is difficult, but we are doing it one section at a time. We use the Four Point approach developed by the National Main Street organization. The proven tenets are 1) Organization (getting everyone synchronized toward fulfilling our mission of improving downtown), 2)Promotion (public relations benefitting all of downtown and attracting investors), 3)Design (creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and investors), and 4)Economic Vitality (helping established and new businesses succeed in our downtown area). We are here to help everyone in Muskogee enjoy the heart and soul of our significant downtown.

🤠📚 A week of learning, networking, and a little downtown exploring!

Executive Director Courtney Graham spent the week in Altus for the final statewide Oklahoma Main Street Program Director/Volunteer Training of the year! 🎉

From learning new ways to make our downtowns unignorable 💥 to connecting with fellow Main Street communities and checking out exciting downtown projects, it was a week full of inspiration, collaboration, and fresh ideas to bring back to Muskogee! 🏙️✨

A big thank-you to Main Street Altus for hosting us at the beautiful Hudson Hall, and to all the presenters and partners who made this training such a great experience! 🙌

Now it’s time to bring that inspiration back home and keep making great things happen in Downtown Muskogee! 💙🏡

We are so proud of the team behind the newly renovated Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame! 🎶

This incredible space is a wonderful addition to our community, and we are excited to see it draw visitors from right here in our area and from across the country and around the world to experience Oklahoma’s rich musical history.

If you haven’t had a chance to see the newly renovated Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame yet, you really need to! It’s something our community can be proud of, and we can’t wait to see all the people it brings to Muskogee. ❤️

We’re excited to welcome Oklahoma State University back to Muskogee this week! 🧡

The OSU team is revisiting five downtown buildings where energy audits were originally conducted in 2023 and again in 2024: the Civic Center, Municipal Building, Roxy Theater, Three Rivers Museum, and Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

This visit is an opportunity to see what improvements have been made since the original recommended upgrades, evaluate how those changes are performing, and identify any additional opportunities to improve energy efficiency in these important downtown buildings.

We’re incredibly grateful that Muskogee was selected as a pilot community for this project through the U.S. Department of Energy and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, and we’re especially thankful to the team at OSU for continuing to work alongside our community.

Projects like this help us better understand the needs of our downtown buildings and, most importantly, give our community the information and tools to make thoughtful, long-term improvements. We’re excited to see what this next round of energy audits brings!

🌅 Early start, big impact! 💪✨

We’re kicking off our monthly cleanup day with the amazing Eddie Warrior Ladies a little earlier than usual today to beat the heat — and we’ve got a BIG project underway!

🎨 We’re giving 100+ downtown light poles a fresh coat of paint! These poles have seen their fair share of Oklahoma weather over the years, and we’re excited to give them a much-needed refresh and help our downtown shine a little brighter.

A HUGE thank you to A More Beautiful Muskogee for applying for and naming Main Street Muskogee as your community partner for the Paint Oklahoma Beautiful Grant through Keep Oklahoma Beautiful! We’re grateful for partnerships that turn into projects you can actually see throughout our downtown. ❤️

And we’re not stopping with the light poles… 👀

Next up: our NEW downtown banners! 🎉 Keep an eye out as we get everything ready and start adding a little more color and personality to downtown Muskogee.

One pole, one banner, one cleanup at a time — we’re making downtown better together! 🌳🧹🎨

🎨 MURAL UPDATE! 🎨

Our newest mural in downtown Muskogee is really starting to take shape! Located behind Ruth Kelly Studios, this new piece by artist Malcom Byers is bringing even more color and character to downtown.

We’re excited to watch this artwork come together and can’t wait to see the finished piece!

A HUGE thank you to Love Bottling Co. and Coca-Cola for helping make this public art project happen! Your support helps make projects like this possible and allows us to continue making improvements throughout downtown. ❤️

We’ll keep everyone updated as the mural gets closer to being finished!

☀️🌱 August Downtown Ambassador Report! 🌱☀️

August brought some serious Oklahoma heat, and our Downtown Ambassador, Chelsea, was working hard to keep Downtown Muskogee green and beautiful!

💧 101 water tanks × 40 gallons = 4,040 GALLONS OF WATER! 💦

That’s how much water Chelsea used this month just to keep our downtown plants alive through the heat waves! 🥵🌿

And the work didn’t stop there…

🗑️ 17 contractor trash bags were filled with trash and debris throughout downtown, helping keep our streets, sidewalks, and public spaces clean.

When the temperatures rise, keeping downtown looking its best takes some serious dedication. We are so grateful for Chelsea and all the behind-the-scenes work she does to care for Downtown Muskogee! 💚

4,040 gallons. 17 trash bags. Countless hours of hard work. 👏

Thank you, Chelsea, for helping keep Downtown Muskogee beautiful—even when Oklahoma says “good luck out there!” 😂☀️
