Main Street Muskogee

Main Street Muskogee The Main Street Muskogee mission is simple. It is to return the heart and soul to downtown Muskogee. We invite everyone to join on us on our mission.

Main Streets and historic downtowns are the places of childhood memories. They tell a story about the hopes, dreams and aspirations of a community. Downtown Muskogee speaks to the grandeur our founders had for the future of our town. One of the largest historic downtowns in the state, it spans a ten block area. Revitalizing this large a space is difficult, but we are doing it one section at a time

. We use the Four Point approach developed by the National Main Street organization. The proven tenets are 1) Organization (getting everyone synchronized toward fulfilling our mission of improving downtown), 2)Promotion (public relations benefitting all of downtown and attracting investors), 3)Design (creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and investors), and 4)Economic Vitality (helping established and new businesses succeed in our downtown area). We are here to help everyone in Muskogee enjoy the heart and soul of our significant downtown.

Just recently, we shared an update about the Main Street sidewalk improvement project, and now we’re excited to see even more progress taking place! 🚧

As of yesterday, demolition began on the remaining half-block of sidewalks, and this morning we’re already seeing fresh concrete being poured. These improvements are an exciting step forward in creating a safer, more comfortable, and more welcoming downtown experience for everyone.

Quality sidewalks do more than improve accessibility—they help create an inviting environment that supports our local businesses and encourages residents and visitors to spend more time exploring downtown.

We’re thrilled to see this project moving forward and appreciate everyone’s patience during construction. We can’t wait to see more sidewalk improvements take shape throughout downtown in the coming years as we continue investing in the future of Muskogee. 👏

Big changes are coming to downtown Muskogee!

New sidewalk improvements are underway in Downtown Muskogee thanks to a joint effort between Main Street Muskogee and the City of Muskogee. This project is being made possible through a shared investment. Half of the block is funded through grant dollars secured by Main Street Muskogee, and the other half is supported by city-allocated funds.

With demolition and debris removal currently underway, we’re excited to soon see this corner cleaned up, finished, and fully open for pedestrian use again. This work is an important step in continuing the momentum of downtown improvements and making the area more accessible and welcoming for everyone.

Keep an eye out as demolition cleanup and sidewalk installation continue over the coming weeks along the rest of the block. We can’t wait to see this section of downtown Muskogee transformed and ready for its next chapter.

A huge thank you to the incredible group of women from Dr. Eddie Warrior Correctional Center who joined us in Downtown Muskogee this morning for a community cleanup day!

This marks the beginning of an exciting new community partnership between Main Street Muskogee and Dr. Eddie Warrior Correctional Center, and we are thrilled to continue working together every month to make our downtown shine.

In just a few hours, the team collected more than six bags of trash, freshened up containers and other downtown features with a new coat of paint, and helped make a visible impact throughout the district.

This is only the beginning! As this partnership grows, we’re looking forward to tackling even more projects including seasonal decoration changes, graffiti removal, trimming, w**d eating, beautification efforts, and much more.

Get ready to see some big changes happening in Downtown Muskogee. Together, we’re creating a cleaner, more welcoming, and vibrant community for everyone. 💚
