We got to sit with Gareth McJunkin, the MHS Academic All-Stater, his family, and his teacher, Ms. Lopez-Rosa. It’s always a great day to be a Rougher! Congrats to everyone!

The Education Foundation of Muskogee was recognized today as a 2026 Outstanding Program Award recipient by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.

This recognition highlights the continued impact of Trivia Night, which has supported Muskogee Public Schools classrooms for more than two decades through community involvement and classroom grants.

The Foundation will be formally honored at the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Academic Awards Celebration on May 2 in Oklahoma City.

We are proud of this well-deserved recognition and grateful for a community that continues to invest in our students. 💚

This evening we had the pleasure of presenting a grant for a new batting practice cage to Coach John Singler and the MHS baseball team! This is what we work so hard for during the year. The equipment will be purchased out of our board discretionary funds. Our regular classroom Grant Patrol will be delivered at the start of May. Go Roughers! We love you!

Today, the Education Foundation of Muskogee awarded Muskogee High School senior Gareth McJunkin $1,000 in recognition of being the district’s first Academic All-Stater in 13 years.

Gareth will attend Dartmouth College this fall on a full four-year scholarship. We’re so proud to celebrate students like Gareth and the support behind them that helps make it all happen.

Did you know that Muskogee Public Schools has a long history of academic success? Education Foundation of Muskogee will receive the Outstanding Foundation recognition from the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence on May 2nd at the Oklahoma Cowboy Hall of Fame. Our Academic All-Stater, Gareth McJunkin, will also be recognized. From the beginning in 1987, Muskogee Public Schoolshas had a long series of OFE awards that includes 23 Academic All-Staters, 6 Medals for teachers and principals, and two Education Foundation awards. We have also had two awardees in the OFE Mentoring recognition. See the list of all our awardees throughout the years below. Congrats also to our neighbors in Fort Gibson for their selection this year - Superintendent Scott Farmer and the Fort Gibson Education Foundation. Thank you to everyone who has volunteerd their time or supported Education Foundation of Muskogee in any way!
