The Muskogee Public Library Adult Literacy Program offers free online classes for adults 18 and over. Classes include:
* GED Test Preparation
* English as a Second Language
* U.S. Citizenship Test Preparation
* Adults who want to improve their reading skills can choose between online classes or a packet class.

The Muskogee Area Literacy Council (MALC) needs adults, 21 and over, to teach online classes in the areas listed. If you are interested in tutoring or enrolling in classes contact Penny Chastain, Adult Literacy Coordinator 918-682-6657 (x246)

Muskogee Area Literacy Council is looking for adult volunteer tutors to work with the Muskogee Public Library Adult Literacy Department.

You will tutor adults age 18 and over in Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language, GED test preparation and U.S. Citizenship test preparation.

Tutors are required to be 21 and over, have a high school diploma or equivalent, be proficient in reading, speaking and writing English. Tutors must be dependable.

Volunteer tutors will attend a 9-hour tutor training workshop before working with a student.

You can pick up an application and background check form in the Muskogee Public Library Adult Literacy Department.

The Muskogee Public Library Adult Literacy Department now has a "Citizenship Corner" featuring free forms and information for anyone interested in U.S. Citizenship. The Adult Literacy Department also offers U.S. Citizenship test preparation classes. Contact Penny Chastain, the Adult Literacy Coordinator at the Muskogee Public Library. Penny can enroll you in the classes and help you prepare for the citizenship test.
