Women Who Care of Muskegon County

Women Who Care of Muskegon County We are a chapter of 100+ Women Who Care. We meet quarterly to award grants to community nonprofts. We gather four times a year for a one hour meeting.

100+ Women Who Care is a National organization started in Michigan by Karen Dunigan to raise money for cribs for new parents. Karen's legacy lives on as there are now nearly 750 chapters throughout the world. Women Who Care of Muskegon County is a group of women who want to make a difference in our community. At the meeting, three charities have five minutes each to present the details of their or

ganization and how they will use the funds. After the presentations, the members vote and the selected charity receives the entire quarterly amount. Each member writes a $100 check directly to the selected charity. This combined donation of $10,000+ makes a real impact and 100% of the donation goes to the 501(c)3 organization. Please join us and multiply your giving with .

Sue sent this email to our members, and now it is time to mourn with our friends:

Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I was asked to let you know of the passing of Julie Donahue.

Julie was a founding member of Women Who Care, and after Jill Sesselmann, and Deb DeVoursney stepped down as co-chairs in 2017, Julie stepped up along with Ashley and me. Julie then stepped down this past fall.

As many of you are, Julie was the epitome of Women Who Care. I purchased a refrigerator magnet a couple of years ago that said: "When you have more than enough, build a longer table, not a higher fence". I bought that magnet because it reminded me of Julie.

She will be greatly missed.
