☀️ Join Us for Summer Fun! ☀️

Looking for a way to keep the kids active this summer? The Northampton County Recreation Department invites all kids ages 6–12 to come out and play!

There is no registration required—just show up and join the fun! Best of all, ALL CAMPS ARE FREE and a FREE LUNCH is provided every day.

📅 2026 Summer Schedule:

🏀 Basketball (Rich Square Creecy Gym): June 22–24 | 10 AM–12 PM

🏴‍☠️ Pirate Football: July 6–10 | 9 AM–12 PM

⚽ Soccer: July 20–21 | 10 AM–12 PM

📣 Cheer: July 22 | 10 AM–12 PM

⚾ Baseball/Softball: Aug 3–5 | 10 AM–12 PM

👮 Police Camp: Aug 17 | 10 AM–12 PM

🌟 Day With The Rec: Aug 18 | 10 AM–12 PM

📍 Location: All camps (except Basketball) are held at the Northampton County Recreation Dept.

On the behalf of the HN Smart Start, we would like to thank Ms. Bonnie at the Northampton Cultural and Wellness Center for co-sponsoring and supporting this beautiful community outreach event. Thank you Mrs. Shykeyma Branch for leading this project for the partnership so seamlessly, it made our jobs so easy😉. Thank you to all of our wonderful vendors, our elected officials, our board members (Rhonda Taylor and Tia White), 100 plus volunteers, and over 250 community members who came out to make Week of the Young Child 2026 end with a Bang!

The Hertford-Northampton Smart Start office will be closed on tomorrow, March 16th due to a severe weather threat with level 4 or 5 risk in place for our area. Damaging wind gusts, tornadoes, and hail are all possible. Please watch your local news for the rounds of storms from 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. in the evening. Damaging wind gusts and tornadoes are going to be the main threats, along with line of showers and storms that we may see in the afternoon. The last time we had a level 4 or 5 risk was March 18th, 2021. So please be safe.
