We are based in Southern Illinois and provide handmade clothing for stillborn babies for free.

Holy Sews provides handmade infant burial clothing for families that experience the loss of their baby during gestational weeks 16-25. These micro preemie babies are much too tiny and fragile for any other clothing that is readily available. We accomplish this by supplying hospitals and funeral homes with a stock of layettes that families can choose from. All of this is provided at absolutely no charge to the hospitals, funeral homes, or the families that they serve.

Holy Sews provides handmade layettes for families experiencing the loss of a baby in the second trimester. Each layette is prepared with love to help families honor their babies during an incredibly difficult time.

Tonight at 7:00 p.m. local time, I’ll light a candle for my Lorella as part of the Wave of Light for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. Candles burn for one hour, creating a wave of light around the world.

I’ll also be lighting my candle for all the babies in Heaven, especially the precious babies whose families have received a layette from Holy Sews.

My time with Lorella was far too short, but my love for her will last forever. Tonight, my light is for you, my girl. Always and forever. 🤍

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and as you can guess, it's a big deal to our team at Holy Sews. We understand that every single item we send out is going to a family who is deep in their grief journey.

October naturally seems to be a time of parents, friends, and family members trying to figure out how to best honor a baby they lost.

We are honored that several families choose to spend time either serving at our work day or bringing projects to their own home as a way of honoring their loss.

We acknowledge and truly understand the feelings that come with this month and upcoming holidays. We would love to encourage you to join our group. As individuals, we can share so much of our emotional healing has come from being with others who have walked this same path.

As always, our DMs are open if you are ever needing prayer.

WAIT, what?? That’s right! We have our own “storefront” on Bonfire!

This October, in honor of pregnancy and infant loss awareness month, we are running a few t-shirt campaigns.

We specifically wanted to create t-shirts for those family members who are still grieving the loss of their sweet baby. A t-shirt sure doesn’t fix it, but we know, personally, how special it is to wear something in honor of that child(ren).

We also have a few options for new Holy Sews Southern Illinois Chapter volunteers.

As always, these funds help support our greater mission of loving on families who are going through the unimaginable. Each shirt earns our team more funds to give to those who are hurting.

One of the BIGGEST misconceptions about serving with Holy Sews is that you have to know how to sew.

Nope!

While we do have several roles that utilize that skill set, we have so many options for others. We have little kids from age 3 to more experienced crafters in their 80s helping us each month!

Just as the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12) has different roles, so does our team! We couldn't do it without each person playing their part.

Not sure where your role is? Not sure how much time you can give?
No worries - we will gladly share options with you to see where you can fit into our puzzle.
