Forgotten No More: TNR update! We had another successful day of trapping and fixing yesterday! We got 9 more from the Sonic colony fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped and relocated to a barn home. That makes 15 total cats so far TNR’d and relocated to a barn home!

We are so happy to be able to be working on this colony. Here’s to being apart of the change we want to see in our community! Thanks so much to our supporters who helped make this happen! We still can’t believe we’re living out our dreams! 💕

We’re monitoring how many cats are still out there. Our last count was 10 left! 💪🏻

We have to take a break from trapping for a week, but we will be back trying next week!

Are there any plumbers in the area that would be able to come out today and take a look at an issue we’re having? Our pipes in the basement started vibrating this morning and we have a leak coming from this spot downstairs and upstairs. We’ve placed a call to a lot of plumbers in our area, but haven’t been able to get anyone on the phone. We don’t think it’s attached to our mainlines, but we need help!! We will be having our low cost spay and neuter program on October 29! Spots are filling up fast! We only have male spots left for this date. If you are needing to get a female fixed, we will start scheduling for November 5th!

We wanted to give a big thank you to A-1 Exterminators who helped us with our ironic mouse and bug problem here at the shelter! We recommend Terry for any exterminating needs! We appreciate him for his help with making sure our facility was free from unwanted pests!

Congratulations to Cordelia who got adopted today! We hope she has a wonderful life with her new family! She is the sweetest girl. She was adopted and returned. We think that she needs a calmer environment where she can be the only cat in the home and we think she’s found a really good fit. We wish the best for her! Thank you so much to the adopter for adopting from us! 💗

It’s a BYOB event
Three food trucks and several vendors
Bring chairs as seating is minimal
Food trucks, vendors, and band merch tables take a variety of payments, but cash is king. Need cash, Blackberry Hollow has an ATM!
Parking is free, but being handled by volunteers from Little Paws of Mt. Vernon. Please give them a small donation if you can or see the photo below to donate early.
Music starts at 4 p.m. But, get there early for a good spot and to get some food!
And finally, have a blast! Get ready for six original bands who are exited to rock out for you!

We wanted to share a TNR update. We started trapping cats at the Sonic/GreenTree/Lowes colony on Wednesday. For our first attempt, we were able to get 3 males and 3 females (6 total) cats from the colony. They have all been fixed, vaccinated, ear tipped, and relocated to a barn home. We are continuing with our trapping efforts this week. We will keep you guys updated on what we’re able to do this coming week.

We want to say a huge thank you to our community who helped make this possible. We also wanted thank Sonic/GreenTree/Lowes for working with us and allowing us to go out and trap. Another thank you goes to the colony keepers who have been taking care of the colony for the past 3 years. Their knowledge of this colony has been invaluable to us!
