The pollinators were buzzing at the MHCDF Pollinator Garden this past Saturday for the Great Southeastern Pollinator Census!

We loved seeing so many pollinators enjoying the beautiful buds and blooms throughout the garden. A big thank you to everyone who buzzed by to help us count!

Help Us Count the Pollinators! 🐝

The MCHDF Pollinator Garden is participating in The University of Georgia’s Great Southeast Pollinator Census this Saturday, August 22!

Tuck Park
165 Broome Street, Mount Holly
9:00–11:00 AM

Want to be part of the research? It’s easy! You’ll watch a plant for 15 minutes and count how many pollinators land on it during that time. We’ll provide a recording sheet, and our observations will be submitted to the University of Georgia as part of this important citizen science project.

Come buzz by the garden, enjoy the morning, and help us count some pollinators! 🌼

Hike, Pick Up, Make a Difference! 🗑️🐸

Join the MHCDF FROGS for our next hike and clean-up on Thursday, August 20 at 5 PM!

Mountain Island Park
304 Mountain Island Rd, Mount Holly

We’ll hit the trail along the lake for a scenic half-mile loop, picking up trash along the way.

The Parks Department will provide gloves and trash bags.

Come hike with us, help clean up, and make a difference! We hope you’ll join us!

Grab a drink, enjoy live music, and join us for the final Friday Night Concert of the summer!

So exciting 🥳

The MHCDF (and especially the MHCDF FROGS 🐸) love the Mount Holly Greenway!

We are thrilled to announce the ribbon cutting for the Dutchman's Creek Bridge at River Street Park.

Please join us on August 15th at 9 AM for a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony as we celebrate this exciting new chapter for our community.✂️❤️

The Dutchman's Creek Bridge is the longest pedestrian bridge suspended over water in Gaston County. This bridge extends over Dutchman’s Creek and extends the Dutchman’s Creek Greenway to the River Park Neighborhood.

We look forward to celebrating this historic occasion with you!🎉

A little weeding, a little pruning, and another great morning in the garden 🌿

Our MHCDF Pollinator Garden volunteers spent Saturday morning caring for the garden and checking in on all the beautiful blooms. Thank you to everyone who came out and got their hands dirty—we appreciate you!

The MHCDF FROGS hit the trail again this past weekend! 🐸

With 8 hikers total (2 not pictured), the group completed the 1.5-mile Battlefield Walking Trail at Kings Mountain National Military Park, taking in all the nature and history the trail has to offer. It was another great morning spent exploring the outdoors and enjoying time together!
