Hi friends, we’re currently looking for a few volunteers to help out with our Nourishing Care program on Thursday mornings. Tasks may include: receiving deliveries, sorting produce, dividing inventory, stocking shelves, and organizing fridges/freezers. *This role involves heavy lifting.* If interested, you can sign up for this Thursday’s shift below or email Raeann at [email protected]. Monthly Volunteer Days 🤝
Each month, we host a Volunteer Day on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and a Multi-Faith Volunteer Day on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Volunteer projects may involve working in the garden, with our animals, and construction or organizational projects. Families are wonderfully welcome to come work together as we have tasks for all ages and abilities. Please email [email protected], if interested.
Creation Care 🌱
Volunteering with Creation Care is a commitment to nurturing and supporting the health of our Learning Gardens, Native Plant Nursery, Food Forest, and other green spaces. We invite you to explore volunteer opportunities that focus on caring for our plants, from watering and weeding to harvesting and general garden maintenance. Facilities Care 🔨
We have ongoing building and facilities projects BIG and SMALL needing the support of folks comfortable using power tools and experienced in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, etc. Projects have included foundation work around the barn, building planter boxes, repairing old barn beams, hanging shelves, fence repair, building window seats, porches. Animal Care 🐷
Volunteering with animal care is a commitment to contributing to the well being of all of our animal friends. We need volunteers every day to help feed and take care of our animals. We have designed it so that all of the tasks are simple and don’t take much time, so there is ample opportunity to just “be” with the animals. Please email [email protected], if interested.
Hospitality Care 🥧
Radical Hospitality, one of Tikkun Farm’s Core Values, creates spaces of welcome and belonging for visitors, guests, other volunteers, and folks who sign up for programming. Volunteers support extending a welcoming spirit in the following ways: morning set-up, evening wrap-up, bakers and canners, and general event support. Please email [email protected], if interested.
Nourishing Care 🥬
The Nourishing Families program includes two interwoven branches: Free Market and Cooking on a Budget class. Free Market takes place on Fridays from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 1:00-2:00 p.m. There are many ways to get involved, so be sure to check out our website for more information.
