CALL to ARTISTS! Parking Garage Public Arts Program
Public Arts Commission of the City of Mount Dora
Entry Guidelines and Specifications
Submissions open October 1, 2026
Submissions close at midnight November 1, 2026
There is no fee for submission
Artists may submit one or two entries.
Winning entries will be announced on or around November 25, 2026
Only artists residing in Lake County may submit entries
Artists whose work is selected will receive an honorarium of $150
Image and Filename Specifications
File Format: Submit original, high-quality JPEG, HEIC, PNG, GIF, or TIFF image
files. Smaller images that cannot be digitally enhanced or rephotographed to meet
the requirements of the outdoor printmaker may be withdrawn from the project.
Crop Your Image: Ensure only the artwork itself is visible in the image. Do not
show any visible matting, frames, or background distractions.
Orientation: Your original artwork may have a portrait or landscape orientation.
Aspect Ratio: Prints will be reproduced on 4’ x 6’ (portrait) or 6’ x 4’ (landscape)
ChromoLuxe metal, so please crop your photos to have an aspect ratio of 2 x 3 (or 3
x 2). Selected art that does not conform to these dimensions will be cropped by
Public Art Commission personnel in consultation with the artist.
File Names of Submitted Photos: Please name each photo with the artist’s last
name, first name, title of work, and medium (e.g., pearson.robert.reflections.acrylic
on canvas).
Quality Tips:
o Use your camera’s highest quality setting to capture the
image.
o Ensure the artwork is well-lit and devoid of glare from glass.
o Crop out any parts of the photo that are not the artwork.
o Take the photos straight on to avoid distortion (e.g., the top
of the image is wider than the bottom).
Entry Process
All photo entries must be submitted as an email attachment to:

Terms and Conditions
Original artwork must be two-dimensional and may use any medium, genre
(representational or abstract), and subject (e.g., local landscape, urban scene,
portrait, geometric shapes)
All artwork must be original and created from conception to completion by
the submitting artist. Artists confirm by their submission that the work is their
own, that they retain copyright in the image (i.e., the artist has not explicitly
transfered it to someone who may have previously purchased the artwork), and
other artists’ copyrighted images have not been used in the work.
Selected art will be showcased on the City of Mount Dora’s website and
publications. By entering, artists are consenting to have a reproduction of their
work used for promotion of the exhibit. The metal prints are the property of the
City of Mount Dora and will not be reproduced – beyond the use of the image for
promotional purposes – without the consent of the artist.
No use of Artificial Intelligence, either in the conception or development of
the work, is permitted. Should your image be found to be referenced from AI or
other copyrighted images, your entry will be disqualified.
Selection Process
Each entry is reviewed and scored by an independent panel of judges who
submit their recommendations to Mount Dora’s Public Arts Commission for final
selection. The panel and Commission select works for the exhibit based on a
variety of criteria, not one of which is more important than another. These include
– although are not limited to -- the quality of the original composition; its use of
light, color and values; narrative quality; and suitability for public display.
IMPORTANT: Jurors in the panel make selections based on the image entered. Make
sure the image depicts a true representation of the work. Images that are not
displayed right side up, or without proper cropping, or with frames included, will
not be juried.
