Rotary Club of Morro Bay Service Above Self The Rotary Club of Morro Bay is a long standing club that has proudly sponsored 3 outstanding area clubs.

We meet weekly on Tuesdays at 12:00-1:00PM in person, beginning July 2022, in a location TBD. Please come and enjoy lunch with us at a very special place on the Central Coast of California.

What a great Rotary Club of Morro Bay meeting!

President-Elect Kim Cade shared a preview of the upcoming Rotary year and a brief look at her background (see video). She also introduced a new meeting feature, Beyond the Badge (BTB)—a Q&A spotlight designed to help members get to know one another beyond Rotary.

Our first BTB guest was Mike Gerson, who shared insights into both his personal and professional journey.

🎉Oh! What a “Step Down” night! 🎉

The evening began with awards presented by Club President Jessica Bailey Weiss. Congratulations to Elsie Casida, Kim Cade, Pete Zotovich, Doc Kleckner, and Phil May for being recognized for their outstanding contributions to Rotary.

Special honors were also awarded to:

* Dan Costley — the inaugural recipient of the John Weiss Service Above Self Award
* Mike Pond — recipient of the Dan Reddell Humanitarian Award
* Pat Teter — named Rotarian of the Year

But the biggest celebration of the night belonged to Jessica Bailey Weiss, who was recognized for her dedicated year of service as Club President. Thank you, Jessica, for your leadership, commitment, and countless contributions to the Rotary Club of Morro Bay. Congratulations on a fantastic year and a job exceptionally well done! 👏🎉💙💛

What a great Rotary Club of Morro Bay meeting!

A big thank you to Ed Lysek of the Five Cities Orchid Society for sharing his expertise and passion for orchids. The Society connects local orchid enthusiasts through meetings, seminars, and their annual Orchid Fest on June 27–28 in Nipomo.

📅 Upcoming Dates:

June 9 – No regular meeting. Join us for President Jessica Weiss Bailey’s “Stepdown” Celebration aboard the Chablis at 5:30 PM (RSVP required).

June 16 – President-Elect Kim Cade will unveil the 2026–2027 Rotary year, including events, fundraising initiatives, and volunteer opportunities. All members are encouraged to attend!

Yesterday, the Rotary Club of Morro Bay provided $12,000 in grants to local organizations like Infinite Music (Thank you for the shout out)! Each year, we also provide more than $20,000 in scholarships to local students!

We may be a small Club, but we are mighty—and we are making a real difference in this community.

What a wonderful Rotary day in Morro Bay!

At today’s meeting, we were proud to award $12,000 in community grants to local organizations doing meaningful work across the Central Coast. These grants support programs serving children, families, seniors, veterans, students, the arts, food security, community care, and more.

We were also delighted to welcome the Morro Bay Maritime Museum for a great presentation!

Congratulations to this year’s grant recipients, and thank you to all of those who have supported this club so we can support others across our community! This is Rotary in action: neighbors helping neighbors.
