Project Surf Camp Project Surf Camp is a 501(c)(3) charitable and educational, nonprofit organization designed specifically for individuals with special needs.

Project Surf Camp uses surfing, the beach, and other ocean activities as an educational modality to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy in individuals with special needs. We further provide opportunities to build social skills, improve physical fitness, develop healthy outlets for stress reduction, and foster independence.

We had TWO amazing groups come out for surf camp last week Wednesday. Campers from Break The Barriers and volunteers from Cal Poly Women's Basketball!! What an amazing combo and an epic afternoon catching waves together!

We love when local groups come out to volunteer with surf camp. Cal Poly Women’s Basketball team has been bringing their awesome players out for years now and we love the partnership. Thank you for facing the wind and waves with us this year.

And SURFERS!! WOW what a rad day full of energy, waves and fun! We can't wait to see you all back next year!

This sweet dog was adopted from Woods Humane Society last October and has become a regular at Project Surf Camp, bringing smiles to campers and volunteers this summer!

Thank you, Woods Humane Society for the amazing work you do finding loving homes for animals in our community. And thank you to all of our Project Surf Camp volunteers, families, and supporters for making moments like these possible.

As we go into our 4th week of camp, we wanted to give a BIG shout out to our incredible Leads and Junior Leads!

Here's just a few photos of the 2026 crew!

These amazing middle school, high school, and college students give up their summer mornings to make camp unforgettable. While many of their friends are sleeping in and enjoying lazy mornings, they're waking up early, squeezing into cold, wet wetsuits, and heading into the ocean—all with smiles on their faces.

Their energy, encouragement, patience, and hard work help every camper have the best surf session possible. They lead by example, cheer campers on, give high fives and hugs and remind us what serving others is all about.

We are so thankful for each and every one of you. Project Surf Camp wouldn't be the same without your dedication, heart, and willingness to make a difference. Thank you for making the magic happen!
