The Vermont Playwrights Circle is a network of artists working to create and promote locally written performance pieces of all kinds

This page is a place for us all to connect more informally about our work, for folks to join in on discussions or post questions of the playwriting community, and where VPC will post event announcements about plays which are locally written. We won't post other events here, sorry folks, not to be exclusive, but to allow other venues to do the posting about general theater.

Also, who has a Halloween ten-minute play? I've never written one, but I just might now. Prompt: Without thinking too much, write down several objects you associate with Halloween in 30 seconds. Then, again, without much conscious thought, write a list of types of people you are comfortable around. (This could be "my mom," "Mr. Rogers," whatever!) Then, in 30 seconds, write several phrases answering the question "What do you want?" Finally, write a list in 30 seconds of some of the most elaborate locations you can think of. After creating all three lists, use them to create a scene. Set a Timer, and write for 5 minutes. GO!
