East Village Homes Corporation East Village Homes Corporation (EVHC) is a community association located in the planned community of Montgomery Village, MD.

The community consists of 1,389 townhouses and single-family homes. East Village includes the following neighborhoods: Ashford, Candle Ridge, The Downs, Essex Place II, The Estates, Gablefield, Glenbrooke, Holly Pointe, Meadowgate, The Reach, and Wethersfield. As an owner of a home in East Village, you are a member of both the EVHC and the Montgomery Village Foundation (MVF). EVHC is responsible f

or the maintenance, repair, snow removal and grass cutting of all community-owned property within East Village. These responsibilities include the streets, storm drains, postlamps, paths and common green space. EVHC also provides trash removal for all homes within East Village. Through their membership in the MVF, East Village homeowners are entitled to all the benefits of Montgomery Village, including access to community centers, pools and tennis courts. EVHC has contracted with the MVF for day-to-day community management services. A professional community manager is on staff to respond to resident questions and concerns. Streets were plowed as needed on Monday. Residents were able to contact Community Manager April Steward throughout the day via the East Village emergency line. Messages on Facebook were forwarded. Please let us know if there are any areas still needing attention.

It was good seeing neighbors helping each other out yesterday. Along with the beautiful snow, I caught sight of a healthy red fox, cardinals, deer, and other wildlife. Easier to see them in contrast to the snow. Hope you all noticed the wonderful wildlife we have in East Village.

I did a drive around several streets a few moments ago to monitor the streets. Ended up removing snow and ice from a few fire hydrants. Most were clear. It would be wise to check them in your neighborhood during big storms.

I can report many residents were impressed with the number of plows that prepped the roads and continued to plow during this weekend’s storm. Thankfully we have sunshine today. Management will continue to monitor streets.

Sleet is a bear to remove from driveways….

Monday trash is canceled and next pick up will be Thursday. Recycling slides to Saturday.
Roads were cleared beginning early Sunday morning and plowing continued throughout Sunday and into Monday morning. Bobcats were used on narrow roads and clean out work around mailboxes and storm drains. Sidewalks will begin to be cleared beginning early Monday. Residents should continue to park in garages and or driveways wherever possible to allow for efficient snow removal.
