MoCo Community Spotlight: Haus of Sauce 🌟

Two years ago, DeAndre Weaver had an idea.

Today, that idea has become Haus of Sauce, a growing local brand whose signature OG Smoky Barbecue Sauce can now be found on the shelves of the Takoma Park Silver Spring Co-op.

Built on a commitment to better ingredients, Haus of Sauce was created to move beyond artificial flavorings and high-fructose corn syrup, delivering sauces that are both flavorful and thoughtfully crafted.

But Haus of Sauce is about more than great barbecue sauce. It’s about bringing people together. Rooted in family, community, and culture, DeAndre has built a brand that believes the best meals—and the best conversations—happen when everyone has a seat at the table.

Mojdeh is celebrating the release of her forthcoming book, The Dawn of Exile: Poems of Longing and Light, an English translation of selected works by contemporary Iranian poet Jila Mossaed. This powerful collection brings themes of exile, memory, longing, and hope to English-speaking readers through Mojdeh’s thoughtful and poetic translation.
