Volunteer Spotlight: Unsung Heroes

Every Christmas Bureau volunteer plays a vital role, and today we shine a spotlight on our unsung heroes. These are the volunteers who go above and beyond, arriving early, staying late, stepping in wherever help is needed, and taking pride in even the smallest tasks. Through their initiative and a willingness to do whatever it takes, they help ensure a volunteer-driven operation like the Christmas Bureau runs smoothly and successfully. We are sincerely grateful for each and every one of you who pours your heart into volunteering with us.

Volunteer Spotlight: Gift Distribution

After weeks of careful planning and preparation, it’s finally time to distribute gifts to our families. From the moment applicants arrive on site until they drive away with gifts in hand, our volunteers work hard to make sure everyone has an amazing experience. Distributing gifts is fun, but it also takes strong teamwork and good communication to keep everything running smoothly. Hats off to every volunteer who helps make the magic happen and a special thank you to our gift distribution team leaders.

Volunteer Spotlight: Santa’s Elves

It takes countless hours and heartfelt dedication from our volunteer elves to reach the gift-packing stage. Donations are collected, delivered, inventoried, and sorted before a single bag is filled or a bicycle, skateboard or scooter are tagged. We are so grateful to the volunteers who make a memorable holiday possible for every family.

Volunteer Spotlight: Food Sorting and Packing

Sorting through giant bins of donated food items is hard work, but our volunteers found joy in the process. Once sorted, the food was carefully packed into smaller boxes, ready for distribution to the families we serve. This work is a pivotal part of supporting our community, and we are beyond grateful to the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to food sorting and packing.

Volunteer Spotlight: Application Processing

Our volunteers are the heart of the Union County Christmas Bureau and the key to successfully serving our community. Each year, they work tirelessly to process a high volume of applications, a task that requires strong attention to detail and a great deal of patience. This year’s team faced the added challenge of navigating a new process, and they rose to the occasion. We proudly salute them for their dedication and hard work!

A tremendous thank you to Spivey Insurance Group, who hosted their 14th Annual Golf Tournament, benefiting the Union County Christmas Bureau.

Through the generosity of golfers and tournament sponsors, the event raised $38,110, surpassing last year’s total by $1,240. This incredible outpouring of support plays a pivotal role in the success of the Christmas Bureau, and we are sincerely grateful.

We are deeply appreciative of our partnership with McGee Corporation. Their generous donation of 100 bicycles each year reflects their strong commitment to the families of Union County. In addition to their remarkable support, they graciously store our trailer of supplies and handle the transportation back and forth each year.
