Congrats to Adams Central FFA members who competed at the State Dairy Judging and Dairy Handlers contest. The contest was held at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds. Students judged 6 classes and junior high gave 2 sets of reasons and seniors gave 4 set of reasons. In the junior division, the team of Kaine Buchan, Conner Lehman, and Logan Beer placed 4th as a team in reasons and 8th overall. Logan was 7th in placing, 7th in reasons and 4th overall in the junior division. Senior division results: In placing only, Ben Hirschy was 9th, Cooper Steele was 4th and Bo Kohlhagen was 2nd. In overall reasons, Ben was 10th, Kale Beer was 6th, Kley Beer was 3rd, and Cooper was 1st overall. Overall (both placing and reasons), individual placings, Bo was 8th, Ryan Beer 7th, Kale was 6th, Ben was 4th, and Cooper was high overall individual at the contest. Team placings in senior division: The team of Clayton Minnich, Sophia Mudd, Bo, and Ryan placed 4th overall in placing only and 5th overall with placing and reasons scores, missing out of 4th place to attend a National contest by 2 points. The team of Cooper, Kale, Ben, & Kley was 1st overall in the reasons team, placings team and combined reasons and placings team in the state. They will compete at Nationals next fall.
In the Dairy handler contest, Beth Kohlhagen was 2nd Individual and Bree Kohlhagen 4th place. Both members showed the cattle for the competition against other students. Congrats to all students on a great day.
