A couple of our amazing teen 4-H leaders put in the hard work and personally earned a grant from the Davie Community Foundation to make this brand-new STEM camp completely FREE for local kids this August!

They've planned an awesome two-day camp for ages 6–10 packed with hands-on experiments.

The Details:
Dates: August 11–12
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Who: Ages 6-10
Where: COGNITION in Mocksville (119 N Salisbury St)

Because it's highly interactive, space is strictly limited to 20 participants, so definitely grab a spot early if your child wants to come.

Note our additional opportunity on August 11-12: a FREE STEM camp for youth ages 6-10. This program will be run by youth leaders, who also successfully wrote and received a grant from the Davie Community Foundation to fund this camp.

Registration for the STEM camp will be via a Google Form that will be released soon.

4-H ROCKS!! Come dive into Geology with us on May 19th at the Library!

Join Ms. Abby with Davie County 4-H and the Davie County Public Library on May 19th to explore different types of rocks, talk about geology, and enjoy an interactive activity for ages 8-12, but all youth are welcome!

Our Winged Wonders program is officially taking flight for another incredible year! We are so excited to be bringing the magic of metamorphosis to 25 individual classrooms, the Davie County Public Library, IMPACT, and local homeschool families.

We want to thank the Piedmont Bird Club for funding this round of programming. Their generous grant allowed us to purchase the additional supplies and larvae needed to ensure that more students can experience the wonder of nature up close. We are grateful for their support in helping us inspire the next generation of naturalists, and we can’t wait to see these tiny caterpillars transform!

Davie County Farm Animal Day 🐄

We had such a great time hosting Farm Animal Day for all the second graders in Davie County Schools on Wednesday! It was a fun-filled day as the students got a firsthand look at the world of agriculture.

Whether they were meeting the animals, learning about plants and nutrition, or discovering how farming impacts their daily lives, these students really got a full hands-on experience! Agriculture is a huge part of our community here in Davie, and we love getting to show the next generation where their food comes from and the hard work that goes into it.

A special thanks to Lone Hickory Arena for hosting us and to all of our incredible volunteers. It was truly great to see everyone come together, including our local farmers, community members, NC Cooperative Extension Staff, and our FFA and 4-H youth, to make this day possible for our students!

County Activity Day is right around the corner and we would love to have all of our youth participate. This program is a chance for youth to hone their public speaking skills in categories like but not limited to; Animal Science, Healthy Lifestyles, Personal Development, and Outdoor Cookery.
