Mutts & Meows Rescue Meows & Mutts Rescue is a 501C3 non profit foster home based, no kill group. Mutts & Meows Rescue is a private rescue. We are not doing local adoptions often.

We work closely with other rescues as well as the Animal Control Departments of various municipalities in the Houston area to place dogs and cats in loving, permanent homes. Our pets live with foster families, so we know them well enough to make a good match between people and pets. Our adoption fees in state ($350 for dogs, $175 and up for cats) include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, FEV/FELV t

ests for cats, and heartworm tests for dogs and prevention while in our care. Out of state range dogs ($750 to $900), Cat ($450 to $650), includes the above plus transport cost across state lines

Geanna – female/spayed – 09/25/25 – Aussie, Golden Lab mix, – Blonde/White

Geanna was a small maybe 10 lb puppy in January when she was adopted (see 1st picture). She was shy and stood behind her bigger brother for protection. Now look at her!!! its been 4 going on 5 months and she has grown into a beautiful dog with lots of puppy left and growing.

Unfortunately, at no fault of hers, we have been asked to find her a new home.💔. The family dog is now the alpha of the house and controls the home, so he has been aggressive enough that Geanna needs to go! The family is heartbroken but it is what it is and we need to move on before there are injuries

Geanna is a small paws with a big personality! She is a puppy still that is loving, energetic, playful, and full of spunky charm. Whether it’s chasing toys, giving kisses, or rolling over for belly rubs, this sweet pup knows how to make every day brighter. She’s Always full of joy and endless cuddles, our furry best friend keeps life fun and full of love. She does live with children in the home and I have requested how she handles the aggression.

An agressive dog can ruin another loving pup so she needs to find a better environment. That said, we do not have a foster home so this is not an option. URGENT HOUSTON AREA FOSTERS OR ADOPTERS NEEDED!!!

We have 24 dogs and puppies coming back that didn't get a forever home!💔 Some have foster homes wait and most need new fosters as our intake foster is closing down for some much needed self health care and out of state adoption events will stop until further notice.

They are available to transport to certain areas out of state, if your ready to adopt using other transport companies. They are also avaliable locally to apply for a new home! We do have local adoption events planned for June 14th and June 23rd and 24th in Katy.

GOT TO HAVE PATIENCE!!!

Come give this quiet sweet boy a chance! He is at Katy Petsmart until 430 today.

POSHAN (nicknamed Boops, bc he boops you with his nose when he wants attention)
Boops is about 3 years old, neutered male, scruffy terrier mix, cream colored with soft white head, chest and leg fur, and rough golden fur on his back and sides and tail. HW+
He is a sweet, silly, goofy dog who loves to play with other select dogs (slow introductions!) He is wary of strangers and takes a while to warm up to new people and situations. He is active, loves his walks! He takes off bounding like he is trying to pull a sled and then settles into a good pace with lots of sniff stops. I walk him with a harness and leash.
Boops is crate trained and needs his safe space. Expect that he will be slow to warm up, and will stay in his crate quite a bit at first. But after a week (or two) he should be venturing out of the crate to explore his new home. He likes toys and a soft bed and will love to jump up and keep you company on the couch once he is comfortable with you, or you can teach him not to do so if you wish.
He is great with potty training but especially in the beginning, be sure that he is restricted to areas you can monitor until he understands when and where he can go out. He will go to the door (we have a pet door), and if he can’t get out, he will come back and stare at you until you get the hint. (If you don’t, he may p*e on the door mat). I keep p*e pads down since I regularly have foster dogs, and he will use those if he needs.
He currently eats about a cup of Purina One beef kibble twice a day. He likes people food and has been taught not to beg but will lay down near the table and hope for a bite after dinner is done.
Boops panics if you try to force him to do something, so I have learned to work with him on things like picking him up (he hates it) and he has a sixth sense for when you are trying to get him to do something. Passive resistance is his first line of defense and usually works quite well for him LOL.
Grooming is something we have been working on slowly. He has let me trim his toenails on occasion after having extensive belly rubs. But he runs to hide when I bring out the brush, and regular brushing is required with his coat, as of course he will shed, and the more he is brushed the less he sheds around the house. I’ve learned that he will let me bathe him with only minimal passive resistance, so when I need to brush him (should be done at least a couple times a week) I just put him in the tub on a leash and brush him there LOL.
But please, spend some time gaining his trust and letting him learn his new home and you will find you have the sweetest silliest goofiest boy who loves to play, cuddle, boop you for attention and give kisses / nibble on your chin. Hi!

My name is Shadow! I am super excited to be in Washington! My foster mommy says there are really great people here and that maybe I will finally find my forever home! I am about 5 years old but still have lots of energy! I am looking for an active mommy or daddy that will take me on walks, running, and/or play fetch with me. If you’ve never played fetch… no problem! I can show you how bc sometimes I like to throw the ball for myself and then go fetch it 😁. I am doggy friendly, but I do require slow and proper introductions! Dog parks would probably be too overwhelming for me, but with proper introductions doggy dates are def. a possibility! Currently I live with my foster mommy and some little and big foster siblings. I am super energetic BUT I do also like to cuddle and hold your hand. I enjoy peanut butter filled kongs and lots of yummy treats! Too many cars passing by during walks scares me a bit, but I LOVE car rides! Pup cups + car rides are THE BEST! I am overall a silly goofy boy. I know “sit”, “leave it”, “wait”, and “shake”. Sometimes I like to see if I can get away with pretending I don’t hear mommy… but it never works and I just end up giving her kisses. Mommy also sometimes has to remind me that I cannot force my shakes so that she will share her dinner with me… BUT she does give me a nice treat after for being such a good gentleman! I really hope I can find a loving patient family to call my own. Mommy is hoping I find a family that will send her lots of updates too! I know she will be so happy when she sees how well I do in my new home ❤️
