It's What is . . . ? Wednesday. Today's term is Common Bagworm Moth (psyche casta). The nocturnal moth's flight time ranges from May to July. During the day, it may be found on tree trunks. Males have hairy, brown metallic wings. Females do not have wings. Larvae feed on grasses lichens, and the leaves of trees like birch, willow and various shrubs. Eggs are laid in the fall and hatch in the spring. Moths can defoliate shrubs and trees. No event? No problem. 🌍💚

This Arbor Day (and Earth Week), you don’t need a big plan to make a real impact.

Here’s how to show up for Texas—right where you are:

🌳 Plant a native tree
💧 Water one near you
🧤 Pick up litter around green spaces
🤝 Hug a tree (know your leaves first 👀)
🌿 Or just slow down and enjoy the shade

Small actions. Deep roots. Big impact.

Tell us—what’s your move today? 👇

Nearly 25% of what ends up in U.S. landfills is food 😳

Let’s all do our part to reduce food waste by:
🌱 Composting it
🍎 Planning smarter
🗑️ Wasting less

Reducing food waste is one of the easiest ways to cut down on landfill trash and protect the planet.

Whether you’re rethinking your habits, making sustainable swaps, or picking up litter in your community, every action adds up.

Make it official - take the pledge today! kab.org/pledge
