📣 Service Opportunity Tomorrow!

Join us for Canyon Rim Day at Esther's Garden this Saturday, August 29th, from 9:00–11:30 am! We'll be creating art, harvesting crops for neighbors in need, and caring for the land — a great morning of hands-on service for the whole community. 🍅🥒

🎒 VOLUNTEER IMPACT: Supporting Youth in Foster Care 🎒

At Canyon Rim Cares Day of Service, our community came together with to make a real difference for youth and families in the foster care system.

Volunteers assembled:
📚 100 backpacks filled with school supplies for youth in foster care and adoptive families
🧴 200 skincare packages for teenagers in foster care

These items will support kids and families throughout the entire year, giving them tools for the classroom and small everyday comforts that make a big difference.

Thank you to Raise the Future for partnering with us and trusting our volunteers to help build these kits with care. Events like this only work because of incredible partners like you! 💛

🇺🇸 VOLUNTEER IMPACT: Feeding Our Veterans 🇺🇸

In under an hour at Canyon Rim Cares Day of Service, our incredible volunteers assembled over 100 food bags for veterans facing food insecurity — partnering with the VA Salt Lake City Healthcare System.

Each reusable canvas tote (printed with the National Hunger Hotline) was packed with:
🥫 Protein (chili, tuna, chicken, protein sticks)
🍎 Fruit cups
💧 Water & sports drinks
🍫 Granola & energy bars, snack packs
🍜 Cup of noodles + cutlery

But the impact didn't stop at the assembly line. Volunteers connected directly with VA reps to learn how the community can support homeless and food-insecure veterans year-round, including volunteer opportunities at VA and resources for veterans to access healthcare and benefits.

Where do these bags go? Straight to VA Salt Lake City's Food Pantry and homeless Veteran program — distributed by social workers to veterans in the community and to those who visit the pantry directly.

One hour of service. A hundred bags of hope for those who served us. 💙

🎉 THANK YOU, Canyon Rim!

Canyon Rim Cares Day of Service was nothing short of amazing. Hundreds of volunteers showed up and gave their time, sweat, and hearts to tackle hundreds of tasks across more than 25 local nonprofits — from 2nd grade literacy kits to supplies for refugees to painting a 70' mural and everything in between.

📚 Project #21: Granite School District Educational Kits

Our most involved project of the day: volunteers will assemble 4,000 literacy and math kits for 2nd-grade students across Granite School District. In past years, these kits have been linked to a seven percent increase in literacy scores among the students who received them.
