Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley GREAT FUTURES START HERE. Check out our program guide at www.svbgc.org to learn more! The Amato Theater for the Performing Arts is unique to our Club experience.

The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley welcomes over 900 members each year and serves thousands more through outreach activities and special events. Each day between 150 and 250 kids attend our programs - arriving before school, after school, during vacations, summer camp, and in the evening. The theater is home to The Riverbend Youth Company and performance companies like Milford Area Players

(MAP) and Friends of the Amato Center. We also host Dance Companies, comedians, and a variety of businesses and non-profits throughout the year in a rental capacity.

This afternoon, Friday June 12th, our BGCSV summer camp staff will be making their way around town for their annual teambuilding scavenger hunt. They are encouraged to engage with the community in a fun and positive way, and ask for help with silly clues. They are aware that the expectations are to be polite, considerate, and positive. Liam, 14, plays lots of sports - but theater is something different.

"We all know how special this place is and how lucky we are to have it."

With new lights and a rebuilt stage, we're building a space that will match what this program has always been for the kids who call it home. And you can be a part of it!

Neva has been performing on our stage since she was 4 years old.

Now 12, she says the people here are like family - and that she's grown as both an actress and a singer because of it. "I’ve grown more confident as an actress and a singer....I can't wait to dance under the new lights!"

Our upcoming theater renovation will bring new lighting, a rebuilt stage, and a refreshed space that honors everything this program has meant to hundreds of kids - and sets up the next generation to thrive.

The theater at the Boys & Girls Club isn't just a stage - it's where friendships are made for life.

Marly, 13, puts it best: "I've made a bunch of friends that I know I'll have for a long time, and I feel very happy being able to have an outlet and express myself here."

That's what the theater program at our Club does - it gives young people a place to belong, express themselves, and grow. And today, during NH Gives, you can help make sure that place is there for every kid who walks through the door.

This summer, Camp Souhegan will be offering a series of Cooking Classes for our Members! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

This program will give them the opportunity to learn how to cook, bake, prepare, and follow recipes. They will then get to sell some of their extra treats at the Club concession stand! 🍪

We are wishing Olivia Skare, our Club's and the NH State Youth of the Year, the best of luck as she travels to New York City to compete at the regional level. 🍎

While there she has already begun to bond with other State Youth of the Years and enjoyed some time visiting the Big Apple! Later this week, she will take all that she has prepared and present it to a panel of judges.

We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished so far. Best of luck Olivia! 💙

Calling all ballers! Today is the first day of evaluations for the Milford Summer Basketball League! We still have spots available at both the A and B level for MSBL this summer! Whether you're able to sign up online or not, you are welcome to come to evaluations; all skill levels welcome. Take a look at the attached flyer for more info!

The evaluation dates are as follows:

* Tuesday, May 26th (B's 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, A's 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM)
* Friday, May 29th (B's 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, A's 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM)

INTRODUCING YOUR 2026 NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE YOUTH OF THE YEAR:

SOUHEGAN VALLEY’S VERY OWN OLIVIA SKARE!!!

We are so excited and extremely proud to share with you that our very own Olivia Skare has won the New Hampshire state-level Youth of the Year competition. Yesterday, Olivia traveled to SNHU to deliver her speech before a panel of judges from across the state. She shared her confidence and the impact the Club has had on her during the interview process.

On Monday, she spent the day getting to know the other Club winners from Manchester, Derry, Salem, and Nashua during a day of fun and community service. They all had the opportunity to visit the statehouse, have fun at Dave & Buster's, and complete community service at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Manchester.

Olivia was joined by her family, friends, Club advisors, and mentors as they celebrated all the candidates and their success. After each candidate delivered their moving speeches, they announced that Olivia had been chosen to advance to the regional level as the New Hampshire State Youth of the Year. Olivia has also earned a $10,000 scholarship in addition to the scholarship she received from being selected as our Club’s Youth of the Year.

It is important to understand the amount of time and effort that goes into the Youth of the Year process. Since each candidate began preparing in January, Olivia has balanced the application process, filled with essays, cover letters, resumes, and recommendations, alongside sports, clubs, work, and dance.

Olivia brings enthusiasm and positivity to everything she does. She is an inspiration to young dancers who look up to her, a friend to everyone she meets, and a positive force lifting everyone up. We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished, and we are so excited to see her shine.

Now it’s onto regionals!

Summer ball is closer than you think!! 🏀⛹️

The 28th Annual Milford Summer Basketball League will be back at the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley this summer! We are excited for a fun and competitive season. This league is designed to give boys and girls ages 10–15 as of August 1, 2026, or those currently in grades 4–9, the opportunity to improve their basketball skills through practices and games with referees. The league will be limited to the first 100 players registered.

Registration is now live on our Parent Portal, and a membership is not required.
Typical game nights are Mondays and Tuesdays during the summer. Typical practice nights are Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer.

The cost is $70 per player, which includes uniforms. Please reach out to Logan at [email protected] with any questions.
