Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society

Santa Fe Railway Historical & Modeling Society The history of SFRH&MS dates back to the late 1960s, to an organization that involved itself principally in model railroading with a Santa Fe flavor.
(1)

SFRH&MS is the world's premier independent organization devoted to preserving, studying, and sharing information about all aspects of the history of the Santa Fe and about modeling its operations, equipment, and structures. In mid-1994, what by then was the Santa Fe Modelers Organization joined with the Santa Fe Railway Historical Society, a smaller group with a specific interest in the history of

the railroad. The result: today's broader, stronger SFRH&MS. SFRH&MS owns and is cataloging a sizable archive of Santa Fe papers and artifacts. It works with other who also own significant collections. For historians and modelers alike, SfRH&MS publishes books and other materials designed to convey information about the Santa Fe's operations and rolling equipment and its buildings and other structures. It provides a line of products designed to help model railroaders build accurate representations of the Santa Fe.

The printer has just informed me that the second quarter. 2026 issue of "the Warbonnet" magazine and "Running Extra" newsletter will mail today.

I have asked our Webmaster to add the "Plains Division" book to the website, but we will need to treat any immediate orders as pre orders. This is annual convention week and starting today, everyone is either at the convention, or heavily involved with the convention and scheduling is very tight.

We will begin mailing the "Plains Division" books as soon as possible and I will announce when they are staged at Presort and ready to mail on this page. As usual, mailing will start after the convention.

********** IMPORTANT! **********

It's that time of the quarter!

Our Join It membership management system has sent email renewal notices to members whose membership expires with the second quarter issue of "the Warbonnet" magazine.

If possible, please use the Join It system to renew. If you have not used the system yet, follow the link in the renewal email and log in using the email address to which the renewal notice was sent, create a password if you haven't already (this system is not affiliated with the SFRH&MS website, so that password will not work — you will need to create a password for Join It — and renew your membership.

You will still receive a paper renewal notice this quarter as "the Warbonnet" mail files have already been sent to the printer and the magazine is currently in the queue for the press. If you renew using Join It, you may disregard the paper renewal notice included with your magazine.

Please use the contact form if you have any problems and I will assist you. This week is the 2026 Annual Convention in Phoenix and I will likely be busier than is typical, so please be patient!
