My Journey Home helps provide Foster/Family Preservation Families with the tools they need to ensure Children are able to thrive in their home.

We rely solely on donations from our community!! Currently we serve Liberty & Long Counties. This organization was created to help provide for foster/family preservation children. Currently we are serving Liberty & Long County children. This started as collecting Christmas Gifts for Foster Children. After 3 successful years of collections we decided to help with Back To School Supplies. Most recen

tly we collected for a clothing closet to stock the DFACS office for an immediate need when children come into care. Currently we are working on setting up a care bag for when children come into care. There is so much work to be done to help case workers and foster parents. This organization is run completely off donations and volunteers. There are no paid staff! If you are interested in any projects that we do please reach out!! We are a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. We will gladly supply you with a donation letter for tax write offs. Super excited to continue these collections and exceed what we set out to do!!

ALL Liberty/Long Foster Kids Wishlist OFFICIALLY HAVE SPONSORS!!!!! Thank you so very much to all who have sponsored a child by either doing the shopping or making a monetary donation towards a child's Wishlist!! Our community is amazing and I am so excited for this years event!! Please make sure all gifts are turned in by December 5th (if you dont know where to turn in please reach out to me). If you wrap the presents please label each gift with the child's name. We will then place all the gifts in a giant sack to make sure nothing gets separated. If you don't like to wrap, no problem, we have kids that will wrap for community service hours!! Again, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!!

WISH LIST (Liberty/Long Foster Kids) are ready for SPONSORS!!!! I once again need your help to make these kids Christmas Wishes come true!! If you, your family, your company, your organization, your Sunday school class or even your mom group would like to sponsor a child for Christmas please comment your name on the picture of the child’s Wishlist. I need all gifts by DECEMBER 5th. If you want to help but do not like to shop, monetary donations are welcome and we will do the shopping for you. If you want to shop but not wrap the presents we have teenagers who need community service hours who will do the wrapping for you. If you want to help at the actual Christmas Party, message me for details. We are a 501(c)(3) Organization and can provide you with a donation letter. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you shop from the list as we would like to see the children receive what they ask for and PLEASE only brand new toys!! Again, this is a huge undertaking and I would not be able to see this through without everyone’s support. It’s a huge effort by everyone and the smiles we see on these kids faces makes it all worthwhile!!!

Its almost that time!!! All wish list are suppose to be in my possession by October 31st, 5pm!!! I am super excited to get going with this event. If you sponsored a child in previous years and would like that same child please comment below and before I post all wish list online I will pull your childs and message the list to you!! This is a huge undertaking and I appreciate everyone who helps make these kids Christmas wishes come true!!

I was coming on here to post about Christmas when I realized I forgot my thank you post for back to school 😬 y’all I am struggling with all the things 🤣🤣 This year we were able to provide 108 kids with all the supplies they had on their school supply list!! Midway Methodist Church and Mount Olivet Methodist Church showed up and showed out!! Thank you to everyone who made this year amazing!! I literally could not do this without everyone’s support and foster parents are so appreciative to have your support!! And thanks to my helpers Jackson and Carlee for making sure the bags got packed!!!

Happy Summer Everyone!! It's that time of year where I start preparing for our annual Back to School Party for the Liberty/Long Foster Children!! I need help collecting for a little over 100 children!! This year I decided to do kind of like Christmas and post each child's exact school supply list (if I could find one). So if you would like to shop for a specific child their list is below. If you would like your same child from Christmas let me know and I can tag you on their list. Our party is on July 19th so I need all items collected by July 15th. If you would like to just purchase some random school supplies that will be just as helpful. And if anyone has any gently used uniforms we will be collecting those as well!! AGAIN, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR ALWAYS HELPING!!!

Foster Kids Christmas 2024 is a wrap!! I seriously can’t thank everyone enough for all your help and support. Our Annual Party was Saturday and we had a HUGE turnout!! The kids were so excited to receive their gift bag!! I wish so bad I could show you all their smiling faces. Again, THANKS for making this so successful and memorable for these kids!

If you are able please wrap and label each gift with the child’s name. If you are rushed and short on time no worries I have some teenagers who need community service hours and will be glad to wrap for you!! Thanks again to everyone who has helped this year!!

Take your stress off election day and go shopping for a foster kid for Christmas!!! Only 22 wish list remain unspoken for!! That means yall have covered 81 kids so far!!! A lot of these left are teenagers and do have some of the more expensive items. See if your office will adopt a child and work in groups. Lets get these last 22 kids covered!! Gifts need to be turned in by December 4th. If you are able to please wrap and label each gift with the child's name. Thanks again to everyone who has sponsored a child or given a donation!!! It's another year of amazing turnout for these kids!!!

MORE WISHLIST SPONSOR OPPORTUNITIES!!! Below are the remaining children that still need sponsors for Christmas. If you would like to sponsor a child please just comment on their wish list. Gifts are due by December 4th, if you are able please wrap and label each gift with the child's name. Please Please Please shop from the child's wish list. Ask your office or company if they would like to sponsor a child and help with the older kids who ask for expensive items, lol!! Below are the wish list for all the new kids that have come into care and never had a sponsor before. If you would like to sponsor one for Christmas please just comment on their wish list. If you have participated before and would like to sponsor your previous child please reach out to me and I will send you their wish list. I will post all the returning kids who do not secure sponsors later this week to give previous sponsors time to reach out!! Please Please Please shop from the wish list!! It's that time of year again!!!! 103 Wish List arrived last week and now I need all your help once again making these children's Christmas Wishes come true!!! If you participated in the past and would like to shop for that same child (if they are still in care) please let me know and I will pull their wish list before I post online. If this is your first year and you would like to participate please let me know a gender and age range. The only thing I ask if you participate is that you please purchase what is on the child's wish list. I need to have all gifts by December 4th. If you want to participate and do not want to do all the shopping monetary donations are also welcomed!! I will post wish list by the end of this week for children still needing sponsors if you would like to pick one out then. Again, thank you so much to everyone for helping!!

Now that the beginning of school has started and everyone is settling into their routines I can finally catch up some!! 85 backpack were filled for the Liberty/Long County foster kids!!! This year I took it a step further and found out each grade and school the children attending so we could get exactly what was on their school supply list. Some donors even took an extra step and got things off the teachers wish list!! Thank you Thank you Thank you to everyone who sponsored a child, who donated school supplies or made a monetary donation!!! Because of you these kids started off the school year with everything they needed! And the foster parents/group home parents really appreciated it as well!! Again, thank you all so very much!! Below are some pictures from the back to school party hosted for the kids. Really wish I could show you all their smiling faces!!!
