An estimated 1 in 4 families experiences a sharp drop in income or work-limiting injury/illness that affects their ability to work for an extended period. Nationwide, over 100 million American adults (roughly 1 in 3) live with the heavy financial hardship and debt associated with medical costs.
*In the past few months the number of hotline calls, walk ins, and referrals from medical facilities has increased, due to medical expenses that many of our neighbors are experiencing. We are so grateful for the partnership of Northwestern Medicine who help fund our community center, and to all of our volunteers who ensure that every penny donated locally, every outreach sponsorship, goes back to supporting families in our area!! Times are tough and as the majority of our population ages towards retirement, these costs and these families and individuals will need more help than ever. So whether you are supporting a family who's child is undergoing cancer treatment, a mother recovering from knee surgery or grandfather recovering from hip replacement, know that your donation makes a difference and matters! It helps folks heal without fear of losing their home. It helps folks receive aid and support they couldn't provide themselves. So, Thank you!
