The 2025 HoF induction ceremonies will take place October 17th and 18th. This year’s induction class and fans of the year will be introduced at halftime at the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets game against Williamsburg Friday the 17th. This year’s induction class: Eric Witherspoon, Pete Turnblazer, Kenny Evans, Danny Massengill and Gary Barnett ( Jack Lewis Award). The Hof committee has also chosen as fans of the year Lou Edit Yeary, Linda Cupp, Margaret Moyers, Deborah Cornett and Everett “mamaw” Gulley. We look forward to seeing you come out and back the Jackets in a big district game and honor this year’s induction class and fans of the year at halftime. The induction ceremonies and dinner will take place Saturday October 18th at 630 at the Middlesboro civic center. Again congratulations to this year’s induction class and fans of the year.

The Middlesboro Sports Hall of Fame would like to announce the 2023 inductees: the late William “Babe” Rogers, Darrell Ferguson, Dustin Wynn, MHS 1982 Baseball Team and Joey Cupp. Fan of the year Mr James Boxx. The induction ceremonies will take place on October 12th and 13th.

The Middlesboro Sports Hall of Fame is saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Jack Lewis. He was instrumental in getting the HoF established and was the president of the HoF for 25 years. We will miss his presence and insight. We send our thoughts and prayers out to Helen, Amy and the family.

The Middlesboro Sports Hall of fame has added a link for nominations. This year’s deadline for being placed on the ballot is April 15th. If a nomination comes after April 15 th deadline. They will be placed on the ballot for future voting. Guidelines are a graduate of MHS or Lincoln High schools or obtained a GED. The nominee must also have been graduated a minimum of 10 years. The Middlesboro Sports Hall of induction ceremonies will take place this weekend. Friday night at 6:30 will be our tailgate in conjunction with MHS Alumni and Friends as the Jackets play host to the Pineville Mountain Lions. Introduction of the inductees will take place at halftime. Saturday night at 6:30 the dinner and induction ceremonies will take place at the Middlesboro Community Center located on 30th Street. Tickets are $20.00 for the dinner and can be purchased at MARH Retail pharmacy or Fountain Square Pharmacy. Tickets will also be available at the door. This years inductees are Scotty Brown, Rodney Moyers, Trevor Hoskins, Steve Spangler, Charlie Jones ( Jack Lewis Award) and Kevin Smith fan of the year.

The Middlesboro Sports Hall of Fame is saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Tim Sowders. Tim was inducted into the HOF in the early 90’s. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Tim’s family.
