🏆 Voting Opens June 15 for Indiana's First-Ever Community Choice Awards! 🏆

Across Indiana, shelters, rescues, and community cat organizations work every day to save lives, find homes, and make our communities more pet friendly.

Now it's time to recognize them.

Beginning June 15, animal lovers across Indiana can vote for their favorite organizations in the first-ever Pet Friendly Community Choice Awards, presented by Pet Friendly Services of Indiana.

Organizations will compete in four categories:
🐾 Volunteer-Based Rescue
🐾 Small Shelter
🐾 Large Shelter
🐾 Community Cat/TNVR Group

Voting runs June 15 through July 2, and there's more at stake than bragging rights. A total of $24,000 in spay/neuter funding will be awarded to the winning organizations, helping them continue their lifesaving work for Indiana pets!

Mark your calendar, watch for the official voting link next week, and get ready to support the organizations making a difference for Indiana's animals every day.

Every vote helps celebrate the people working tirelessly to make Indiana more pet friendly.

Whether you're looking for a low-cost provider, financial assistance, transport options, mobile clinics, or other spay/neuter resources, the directory makes it easy to search by county and find help near you.

Too often, pet owners want to do the right thing but don't know where to start. This directory was created to connect people with resources before unwanted litters happen.

Hello Friends, Kitty Angels… We were contacted yesterday about a lady with a big heart being overwhelmed with kitties that she has taken in… She desperately needs help and we’d love to help her but We need help to do that. She has 12 cats that need to be placed. But first they need to be updated on vaccines and 5 need to be fixed, all need to be microchipped. Wed like to take the 5 in Wednesday to have the works done. Fixed, chipped, vaccinated.
2 of the kittens will be going to a foster home on Thursday and we will be holding the other 2 until we can get them into Pet Smart for adoption on the 15th. ( the male will be going back to the owner, she’d like to keep him, since he’s special needs.)
Any help is appreciated!❤️ Once these babies are done we will work on getting the rest updated on vaccines and into Pet Smart when room opens up. We are at 400. In our account ,but vetted 2 cats in the last 2 week and our waiting for that invoice to come through… so we do have a very small amount to start. If anyone wants to donate to help us out, We’d certainly appreciate any and all help!❤️🐾❤️🐾

Update 5/28/26- Our entire bill was covered by an amazing Kitty Angel! Thank you Chris!❤️❤️❤️Part of our last invoice was paid by two other Kitty Angels, Thank you Dawn and Lou Ann!❤️❤️❤️ We love and Appreciate you all so much and couldn’t do what we do without your love and support!❤️❤️❤️

We are experiencing financial strain after paying our recent veterinary bill, with three additional invoices pending. Our funds were further depleted by a recent purchase of pet food, litter, and supplies, leaving us with a balance of $433.00. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I do have some pop up Garage sales in the works but unfortunately it’s just myself doing everything so I’m not quite ready yet. I’m still trying to get caught up on my spring cleaning of the cattery so the kitties can get outside into the catio. M also waiting for Gary to get some repairs done before they can safely go outside.
So far this year it has been all about getting repairs done in the Kattery.

Opening the catio today… I think with the remaining kitties that we have, I will only be using one side of the catio…
That’s the sad reality when you take on 16-19 year old kitties. I look at the wall shelves and remember each and every one of their faces that have enjoyed this Kattery.
We provided them with a safe home, some for years. At the same time I hate that they couldn’t have a real home with a family of their own.
We need to do better at spaying and neutering our pets so there’s no feral cats! Stop declawing your cats, it only causes them pain in the future that they relate with behavior issues… and please make arrangements for your pets with a family member in case you pass away. ( Remember I can not take on anymore long term!) These are the majority of cats that we get calls on a daily basis.
With my diagnosis almost 3 years ago this June, We stopped taking in any new cats… The ones we have helped with we have networked like crazy to help them.
I still have 3-7 more years on one medication so taking on anyone new is not an option… it’s not fair to Gary to leave him with a bunch of cats that he didn’t ask for! He’d rather be fishing than cleaning, lol
The Kattery will continue to be for TNR holding, until they can be released after 48 hours.We will continue to help kitties in need but mainly with networking and TNR.
I hope everyone understands, that’s just how it has to be.
