Today was a great day for dads, children and families!
The Miami-Dade County Community Services Department’s Head Start/Early Head Start Program was proud to host today’s Project DADS event at the Miami Children’s Museum, bringing together hundreds of Head Start families for a day focused on one powerful message: when dads are actively engaged, children and families thrive.
Throughout the event, families received information and resources highlighting the important role fathers play in nurturing their children’s social, emotional and developmental well-being. Fathers also learned about practical ways to strengthen their relationships with their children, become more actively involved in their development and help build strong foundations for their children’s futures.
We were especially excited to see several fathers take the next step by signing up to participate in the federally funded Project DADS research study. Through the study, participating fathers will receive information, tools and resources designed to support positive fatherhood and strengthen the connection between dads and their children—while also contributing to research that can help inform future father-engagement efforts.
A special thank you to our wonderful partners at the Miami Children’s Museum for graciously opening their doors and helping us host today’s event.
And, of course, a heartfelt thank you to every dad, child and family who joined us today, as well as our dedicated Head Start team and partners who helped make the event such a success.
Because when we Develop and Advance Dads for Success, we’re not only supporting fathers—we’re helping children grow, families become stronger and communities thrive.
