South Florida, now is the time to raise our voices. Our neighbors, friends, and loved ones need to know they are not alone. While TPS may be temporary, people’s dignity, safety, and humanity are not.

Let’s be real, the fear of being seen as annoying is stopping us from building power. This is a training about moving past that fear, with practical tools that will get our organizations beyond the sign-up sheet and towards mass participation.

These foundational skills to organizing are simple, and can be mastered by anyone who is committed and believes that working people can win it all, and then some.

Each of our communities will feel the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision to end protections for Haitian and Syrian immigrants who are part of the very fabric of our neighborhoods.

This is an attack on South Florida as a whole, not just those without status.

In Miami-Dade County, home to the largest Haitian diaspora in the nation, we are the nurses, caregivers, small business owners, teachers, and families who sustain this region.

Thousands of Haitian health care workers—who care for the sick and elderly—are now at risk of deportation. Haitian youth and their families deserve to grow up with stability and hope, not fear of family separation.

We stand unwaveringly with our immigrant neighbors.
We will continue to fight for the dignity and protection of all working people.

There is no Miami without immigrants.

We showed up to City Hall today because the City of Miami’s agreement to use public resources to turn local police into ICE has done nothing but terrorize those who make this City run, and make everyone — regardless of their status — feel less safe.

City of Miami residents, call your district’s office and let your ELECTED city rep know exactly how you feel about ICE in our neighborhoods. In a city of immigrants, betrayal of our communities has no place in public office.

When we build solidarity, ✊🏾

Every community deserves to feel safe in public spaces, and for public resources to be used to support working families, not terrorize and profile them.

That’s why we’re speaking out this Thursday morning at Miami City Hall to let public officials know that collaboration with ICE is not welcome by the community, and let our neighbors know that we have their back.

What happens on June 25 could impact many families across Miami. Join us at Miami City Hall as community members speak out against the city’s participation in the 287(g) agreement. When local police are used for immigration enforcement, it creates fear, weakens trust, and makes all of us less safe.
