This season 600 playwrights from across the country sent us their short plays. Every one was read by 2 or 3 readers, and the highest scoring plays went on to a second round for further review. To mark City Theatre’s 30th Season Anniversary, Artistic Director Margaret M. Ledford chose 30 finalists. These thirty short plays were lively, timely, hilarious and provocative, poignant and surprising. We congratulate these playwrights for their excellence in the short play format!

Submissions for next season’s contest open November 2.
