CCBU Board Member comes from a family of journalists and transformed that legacy into one of the most influential Brazilian media platforms in the United States. In 2000, he founded AcheiUSA, following recognition from Brazil’s National Library with the prestigious New Writers Award.

On June 2 and 3, CCBU had the privilege of participating in the 5th and 8th Grades Graduation Ceremonies at Ada Merritt K-8 Center, home to one of Florida’s most recognized Portuguese-English bilingual programs. 🎓🇧🇷

Representing CCBU, Floriana Martinez, CCBU President, and Gabriela Eckersdorff, Portuguese teacher and member of CCBU’s Education Committee, joined students, families, and educators to celebrate these important milestones.

During the ceremonies, graduating students received CCBU certificates recognizing their proficiency in Portuguese, along with a commemorative CCBU pin. Floriana and Gabriela also shared messages of encouragement and gratitude, recognizing the dedication of the school, educators, families, and especially Portuguese teachers Rocha Groeninger and Lenita Bousso whose commitment helps make the program so successful.

CCBU is proud to support Portuguese bilingual programs throughout Florida and to recognize students who graduate with not only an additional language, but also a deeper connection to their cultural roots and a valuable advantage for their future.
