Mr. Trivia’s Question of the Week: Solve this riddle. What gets wet the more it dries?
Greetings and welcome to September. What happened to summer? It really is true that time moves much faster than you think. You spend time concentrating on each day and before you know it, weeks and months have passed. Maybe we should start thinking in larger time segments…? There’s a movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” I’m going to have to ask him or her what I did because I don’t know myself. Time: a concept that’s hard to define. Try to define it without using the word. Now go lay down for a while before you read on…
This week, Tuesday, September 1, it’s another episode of Trivia Night with Mr. Trivia. Food, drink, competition, fun, knowledge and prizes await your attendance. Or you could stay home and watch a rerun of “Matlock.” The Tuesday dinner special is shepherd’s pie, a favorite comfort food for years. Come get some. You will get an extra point in the game if you know the simple answer that a TOWEL get wet the more it dries, which is based on the transitive and intransitive use of the verb “dries,” or something like that. See? You’ve remembered something from grade school English class already. See you Tuesday. Action starts 6:30 pm.
