🏫 📖🎒📓School was is session today in Merrillville! Merrillville Lions Club at the Lake County Public Library was the host site today for Officer Training! Lions from throughout the District 25A Lions came and learned about a variety of topics. We were so appreciative to have the opportunity to host and learn ourselves about various officer positions and about helpful tools that are out there to better serve our respective communities! Thank you to the great speakers and everyone who attended today!

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security has developed a webpage dedicated to financial, housing, food, health, and general resources associated to the Aug. 11 disaster. Visit on.in.gov/August2026Disaster for information. This includes details about Indiana Disaster Relief Fund grants. You may qualify for up to $5,000 in emergency aid grants if your primary residence was affected by the Aug. 11 storm. This program is limited to uninsured damages of eligible items such as certain home repairs, essential furnishings, essential appliances, essential tools, debris removal, medical devices, and essential transportation.

This storm has rocked not just our town, but the Region and more! Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected! We sincerely thank all the first responders, people working to restore power, people cleaning up their respective communities and everyone else helping their neighbors in this time of need.
