Today is Random Acts of Light Day!
On June 13, we celebrate the simple yet powerful ways that kindness can brighten someone’s day. A smile, a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or an act of service can create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond what we may ever see.
For Kiwanis members, Random Acts of Light Day is more than a one-day observance—it’s what we strive to do every day. Through service projects, youth programs, community partnerships, and countless acts of kindness, Kiwanians work to bring light, hope, and opportunity to children and families around the world.
Today, we encourage everyone to share a little light. Hold a door, make a phone call, volunteer, offer a compliment, or simply be present for someone who needs it.
Together, we can make our communities shine a little brighter.

Every commuter who passes through Merrick deserves a little reminder of what we’re all part of.

Kiwanis Club of Merrick members hit the platforms and spread some patriotic pride — handing out flag pins to our neighbors ahead of Flag Day on June 14th.

It’s a small pin. But it carries a big message: we see you, we’re proud of this community, and we’re glad you’re part of it.

The Merrick Kiwanis Club & American Legion Post 1282 are hosting a community blood drive with the New York Blood Center.

📅 Saturday, June 6, 2026
🕘 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
📍 American Legion Hall · 160 West Merrick Rd, Merrick

One donation can save up to 3 lives. Bring a photo ID, eat well, and hydrate. Ages 17+.
