Canopy Watch provides trainings to climbers of all abilities both nationally and internationally to help them reach new personal heights of self-awareness, confidence, and skill. Noel Rodriguez 🇲🇽 is our Pied Piper. He gushes with charisma and confidence and the students would follow him anywhere. As a champion climber he has the highest technical skill and knows just about everybody in climbing in North America, attributes that have saved us many times.

Noel has a really big heart. He has performed way over his duties and his contributions to Discovering the Canopy have been enormous.

Jason Mayorga and Ana María Cervantes 🇺🇸 are the dynamic duo. Inseparable. Unstoppable. Jason&AnaMaría.

Jason is a top arborist in the Pacific NW and rediscovered his love for teaching in Colombia. Ana María is solid in her climbing and always gentle and sweet - until she blew away the competition in a pull-up contest!! They were a secret spice in our recipe this year.

Anatomy of a Training - Instructor Highlights.

Kevin Bingham is our Curious George and Avenger superhero. He has a deep yet playful curiosity that skips around until it settles on a topic, and then it cuts with the intensity of a laser. Kevin can pull a creative solution out of nowhere.

As the inventor of the rope wrench and SRS he has caché like nobody’s business and the students admire him greatly.

Kevin has a beautiful heart. He loves teaching and the students.

I think the rope wrench probably saved my life the day I fell 50 feet. For a lot of reasons I’m grateful for Kevin.

Anatomy of a Training - Instructor Highlights.

Peter de Vries is the King of Cool. Firefighter, EMT, rescue climber and technician, he brings all that experience to the course. He serves as our Safety Coordinator, putting his eyes on all climbers all the time. It adds a level of safety and comfort knowing Peter has our back.

Peter is also an analytical thinker who helps us reason through problems and find the right solutions. It adds flow to the course.
