Dear MAA Family,
I am writing to address a serious incident that recently occurred at one of our events, involving a physical altercation (shoving) between a parent, a board member, and other parents.
As a reminder, these are kids and volunteers who are learning and make mistakes. It is never okay for parents to come onto the field of play during any event. Our coaches and referees are there to manage the game and handle any situations that may arise; parents must allow them to do their jobs.
Our organization maintains a STRICT ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for any form of violence, aggressive behavior, or harassment. This conduct goes against the core values of sportsmanship and safety that we strive to uphold for our youth.
Summary of Actions Taken
Authorities on Scene: Law enforcement was already on the scene and immediately addressed the situation.
County Notification: The County Director has been fully briefed on the incident and the measures taken.
Disciplinary Action: The involved parent has been banned from all Madison County youth sports activities to include: practice, games, signups, camps, workdays or any other even associated with Madison county youth sports leagues.
Policy Reminder:
Field Boundaries
To ensure the safety of everyone involved, please note our strict enforcement regarding field boundaries:
Immediate Ejection: If anyone from the stands enters the area of play during an event, it will result in their immediate ejection.
Further Discipline: Depending on the severity of the action, entering the field of play could also result in an indefinite suspension or permanent ban.
Our fields and facilities must remain a safe, positive space for children to play and grow. Respect for officials, coaches, volunteers, and fellow families is mandatory at all times.
Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to keeping our community safe.
