💚 A few hours can make a big difference.

Join the Junior League and the UVA Club of Silicon Valley for a special volunteer event during UVA’s Worldwide Service Weekend as we assemble Cleaning Product Care Bags for families caring for children in medical crisis.

These essential supplies help reduce the spread of germs between home and hospital, allowing families to spend less time worrying about daily necessities and more time focused on their child.

✨ Serve your community
✨ Connect with fellow volunteers
✨ Make a meaningful impact

Together, we can help lighten the load for families when they need it most.

Last Saturday, we gathered for a fun training led by Natalie Rasmussen on how to plan and enjoy an epic solo trip anywhere in the world. We learned all about choosing destinations, flights and hotels, staying safe, packing light, what’s worth splurging on, how to balance structure with spontaneity, and how to handle things when they go wrong. Thanks and everyone who attended and shared their own travel tips and experiences!

Meet the women leading us into a year of Contagious Courage. 💚

We are so proud to introduce our incoming Board of Directors and Management Team, a group of women who lead with heart, show up fully, and make courage impossible not to catch.

Contagious Courage isn’t just our theme this year. It’s how these leaders move: speaking up, stepping forward, and taking up space, inspiring every one of us to do the same. When one woman leads bravely, it spreads. That’s the whole idea. ✨

Here’s to a year of bold ideas, big impact, and lifting each other higher. We can’t wait to get started. 🌲

Yesterday our Board, Management team and Leads came together to connect, reflect, and reimagine what’s possible, not just for the year ahead, but for the future we’re building together.

Grounded in a shared commitment to an inclusive, proactive culture, we explored how to foster clear communication, create space for every voice, and lead with appreciation and recognition. We also embrace a “fail fast” mindset, encouraging innovation, bold ideas, and a willingness to try new approaches without being held back by how things have always been done.

One of the most powerful moments was envisioning future headlines for JLPA•MP. Looking five years ahead, we imagined our League making an even greater impact: raising visibility and increasing positive outcomes for our community, creating even more welcoming community spaces where connection and belonging thrive, and becoming known as the premiere organization for training women leaders.

With gratitude to , Susan, and everyone who made this retreat a truly meaningful and motivating start to our 2026-27 League year.

Rising Together: A Year of Evolution & Achievement

This week wasn’t just our Annual Membership Meeting. It was a full reflection of what happens when women commit, lead, and show up for something bigger than themselves.

We celebrated a year of real impact across our community work, fundraising, membership growth, and the countless moments in between that don’t always make the agenda but make all the difference.

We honored milestones:

✨ Members stepping into new seasons

✨ Leaders who went above and beyond

✨ Teams who turned vision into ex*****on

From our Shining Star and Rising Redwood award recipients to our newest Actives and Sustainers, the night reflected the depth of talent, heart, and commitment in this League.

And then one of the most meaningful moments, the passing of the gavel.

A reminder that leadership here is not about one person. It is about continuity, legacy, and trust.

This year, we didn’t just grow. We evolved.
And we did it together.

Grateful for every woman who poured into this year. The impact is real, and it’s only the beginning.

Here’s to a new year of Contagious Courage 💚

8 days.

There’s something powerful about stepping into a room where everyone is committed to growing, leading, and doing the work together.

Contagious COURAGE: Take Up Space, Together.

Not just a theme — a decision to show up fully, speak with clarity, and support one another in real time.

The tone for the year starts here.

It takes curiosity and courage to show up at a workshop called “The Confidence Circle” with women you don’t know. Many of us had never met before that morning. We are leaders, mothers, spouses and sisters. We are students, retired, changing careers, taking on new roles and responsibilities. Many of us overcame huge personal and professional challenges to get to where we are. Together, we went beyond surface level chit chat and experienced deeper, thoughtful connection.

Throughout the morning, we practiced deep listening and courageous sharing. We paired up and exchanged stories of our accomplishments - barriers we’ve overcome, risks we’re taking, passions we’ve poured ourselves into, career changes we’re managing. Then we took turns telling our partner’s story to the whole group. It was moving to hear everyone speak with such care about someone they had only just met.

We then shared how it felt to give and receive our stories, to talk about another woman’s accomplishments, and then to listen to another woman talk about our accomplishments. There was a feeling of admiration, respect, support and joy between us. It’s rare in everyday life to feel seen and heard in this way, to realize how many others carry similar experiences, and to celebrate each person’s unique journey of learning and perseverance.

In a time of relentless change, uncertainty, and endless Zoom calls, one of the most powerful ways to build confidence is saying yes to showing up - body, mind and heart - and embracing the experience of giving and receiving in community.

Thanks so much to this amazing group of women for showing up so fully, and to Lea Ann Hutter for facilitating The Confidence Circle.
