Here’s the youth basketball practice schedule for this year.

Also if your team is first or last to use the multipurpose room that day please consider helping your coach set up and /or put back the room.

Finally we can use some more asst coaching help for our k-2 team. No experience necessary. If interested please contact Coach Tanton.

Our youth basketball program starts December 2 at the elementary gym with grades k-2 from 8:45-10 and grades 3-6 from 10-11:30.

Walk up registration is fine but it helps with planning if you can turn in your form by Tuesday.

With 90 players or more expected to play this year the future of yellow jacket basketball is very exciting and it will be a great season.

We had to change the name of the page per the board of education

A couple reminders

Hs basketball starts tomorrow with tryouts 3:00-4:45 and Tuesday 3-5

Our parent player meeting and fundraiser kickoff is in room 132 Tuesday 5:10-5:45

Youth basketball sign ups were just sent home on Friday. Our first day will be December 2.

Grades 9-12 4 player workouts are the next 2 Wednesdays (1st and 5th) and this Sunday the 5th. You need to schedule your time to ensure we meet MHSAA rules of no more than 4 players in the gym at a time. Reach out to [email protected] for questions or to register. Go Jackets!

Here’s our October open gym schedule. Wednesdays are 6:30-8:30 at the elementary gym and Sundays are 5-7 at the hs gym. This is open to players in grades 6-12.

We will have open gym/skill work for any student entering grades kindergarten-6th grade Wednesday the 12th and Wednesday the 19th from 1:45-3:00. Summer open gym is the next progression in our growing and thriving youth basketball program. Take advantage of this opportunity and bring another Yellowjacket basketball player along with you!

Our summer basketball program is wrapping up soon with 6 more opportunities in July for our athletes entering grades 7-12 to come in and get some work in. Those opportunities are:

10th 6-8
12th 6-8
16th 5-7
17th 6-8
19th 6-8
23rd 5-7

For the first time in at least 7 years our boys basketball team played against summer competition. Playing in the Marlette Shootout vs stout competition from the greater thumb, bluewater, and mid Michigan conferences the young Yellowjacket contingent improved a lot and competed very well in getting better each game. It was a great weekend for our program!

Following the dead week next week we’ll be posting our July schedule for the following 2 weeks as we wrap up our successful summer program with some more open gym/skill work sessions.
