Forever in Peace may you wave.
Beyond delivering a long weekend, Memorial Day is set aside to remember US Military personnel who've lost their lives in service to their country.
The Medway Lions Club thanks all of those who sacrificed for our freedoms. As you drive along Main St, Medway this week, we hope you will remember their courage, honor and bravery..

On this past Saturday, the Medway Lions Club FILLED THE TRUCK at the annual SHRED IT!! event. There were over 150 Medway residents who participated, with many many bags and boxes of sensitive documents properly disposed of. Our participants commented on how satisfying it was to load their paperwork into the barrel, then watch (and hear) it hit the shredder. Even the skeleton was enjoying himself!
Thank you to all who participated, especially the very kind woman who dropped off coolers filled with iced water for the hard working Lions!
*This event was made possible by your bottle and can donations. Medway is the best!

Community Spotlight: Charlie Myers

Some of the best community impact happens quietly and consistently and that’s exactly what Charlie Myers has been doing at the Medway Senior Center.

A longtime Medway resident, Charlie has been leading a hands-on learning series introducing seniors to a variety of AI tools and chat-based platforms. His goal is simple: show how different tools can be used for different needs in a practical, approachable way. The program meets twice a month and focuses on real-life applications like writing emails, researching family history, finding recipes, and preparing for doctor’s visits. It’s about building confidence and giving seniors tools they can actually use.

Charlie has also dedicated more than 100 hours to adult education on AI to develop this program, volunteering his time to make sure Medway seniors have access to this rapidly evolving technology in a way that’s understandable and useful.

Yesterday’s session focused on staying safe in a digital world.

Charlie welcomed Detective Sergeant Lauren Swarthout, who spoke about common financial scams targeting older adults and how evolving AI technology is being used to make those scams more convincing.

Assistant Attorney General Diana Hooley from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office also joined the session to discuss cryptocurrency scams and what seniors should watch for.

This is what community partnership looks like. Education, prevention, and people looking out for one another.

Thank you to Charlie for continuing to give back to the Medway community in such a meaningful way.

Town of Medway, MA Medway Council On Aging Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell
