Medford Firefighters Local 824

Medford Firefighters Local 824 Medford Firefighters originally formed in 1886. In April of 1945 we organized to become Medford Professional Firefighters Local 824.

We are here to service the citizens of Medford, Oregon.

Engine 15 had an unexpected ride along yesterday in the middle of calls. ๐Ÿ•

While on the way to a non-emergent call for service, the crew encountered traffic stopped because a lost dog was in the road. They picked up the pup, who got to ride in the engine while the crew finished their response.

They were able take the pup to SoHumane, and it was reunited with its family!

While we miss our honorary fire pup, we're glad they're back home safe. Thank you SoHumane for the work you do!

These rainy days and cooler weather have prompted a ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ, effective today (9/3).

๐Ÿ”ฅOutdoor debris burning remains prohibited.
โš™๏ธThe use of power-driven equipment, grinding, cutting of metal and other spark-emitting equipment is allowed until 1 p.m. and after 8 p.m.
๐ŸŒฑMowing green lawns is allowed at any time.

๐—™๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐——๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—›๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต: Effective immediately, ODF Southwest Oregon District has announced a decrease in the fire danger level following recent light rainfall and a trend of cooler temperatures.

Itโ€™s still fire season, and restrictions remain in place:
๐Ÿ”ฅDebris burning, including piles and debris burned in burn barrels, is not allowed.
๐Ÿ”ฅThe use of power-driven equipment, grinding, cutting of metal and other spark-emitting equipment is allowed before 10 a.m. and after 8 p.m.
๐Ÿ”ฅMowing dead or dried grass is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. This includes equipment powered by gas, electricity or batteries. Mowing green, irrigated lawns is allowed at any time.
