The countdown is ON! Murci’s Murals is just ONE WEEK AWAY—September 13! 🎉

We’re already seeing some of our amazing followers and Murci’s Mission alumni adopters saving their spots, and it makes our hearts so happy! 🥰🐾 We love seeing familiar faces return to support the animals we all care about—and we’re just as excited to welcome some new faces who will be joining the Murci’s Mission family for the first time! ❤️

Whether you’ve been part of our journey for years or this is your first Murci’s Mission event, we can’t wait to spend an evening with you filled with creativity, good food, laughter, and lots of love for animals. 🐾

🖌️ Meet your painting guide: Local artist & instructor Squid Samson!
Squid will guide you step-by-step through creating your very own pet portrait—and no art experience is needed! Just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to have some fun.

And here’s the best part: you won’t arrive to a blank canvas! 🎨

When you register, you’ll submit your favorite photo of your pet. Our team will use that photo to prepare a canvas with your pet’s outline already drawn and ready for you to paint. When you arrive at the event, your personalized canvas will be waiting for you!

🐈‍⬛ FANCY FELINE FRIDAY🐈

Meet Marilyn, AKA Scary Mary.👋

Marilyn is a beautiful brown tabby with white domestic longhair cat that came to Murci's Mission from SCRAPS. Her birthdate is 12/01/2018. Marilyn is a lovely little shadow who drifts silently through rooms like a Victorian ghost with opinions. 👻 She’s elegant, dramatic, and just a touch unhinged — half Dracula 🧛‍♀️, half Bellatrix Lestrange.

Now, full disclosure: Marilyn used to bite with the enthusiasm of a Victorian heroine clutching her lover’s cravat during a storm. Her teeth were weapons. OSHA would have had notes. So yes, we filed them down a bit. She’s still got the spirit of a tiny vampire, just… with safety in mind. She can still bite, but cannot hurt people. She’s affectionate in that “I love you but also I might haunt you” way. She’ll sit beside you like a brooding poet, stare into the middle distance as if communing with unseen forces, and then curl up sweetly like nothing is amiss. She is genuinely incredibly affectionate, but like all creatures of the night, she struggles to keep her mouth to herself.

Marilyn is spayed, up to date on shots, and ready to bring her gothic charm to a home that appreciates a cat with a dramatic backstory and a reformed bite radius. Adopt Marilyn — she promises to only nibble gently now, keep the violence at bay, and drown out the screams by purring just a bit louder.

Marilyn's adoption fee is $50 and she comes spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.

In the aftermath of the recent fires, these 10 cats and kittens have come into our care. They are receiving the love, safety, and care they need – and soon, they’ll be ready to find their forever homes.

We’ve got some VERY happy news: these sweet faces have found their forever homes! 🏡❤️

🍝 Meatball — Our fan-favorite little guy has had everyone rooting for him, and now the wait is over—Meatball is officially headed home! 🥹❤️

🌺 Alani — Sweet, sunny, and impossible not to love, Alani has officially traded foster life for a forever family!

🥤 Red Bull — Red Bull may not have had the energy his namesake promised, but he had plenty of charm—and it was more than enough to win over his perfect forever family! 🥰

🔥 Celsius — Cool name, warm heart—Celsius has officially found a forever family!

💥 Bang — Bang made an entrance, stole some hearts, and then—BOOM!—landed in a forever home! 💕

🏔️ Juneau— Juneau may not be in Alaska, but this sweet dog found their own little piece of paradise!

👹 Monster — Don’t let the name fool you—this puppy is one lovable little monster who just found the perfect humans!

🖤🤍 Mordecai & Bianca — These two kittens proved that some things are better together, and they’re off to their forever home as a duo! 🥹

🛠️ MacGyver — Our longtime resident finally engineered the perfect escape plan: straight into a forever home! ❤️

🃏 Bluff — Bluff played his cards right and went all-in on the forever-home life! 🐾

Hello from Princess Mouse! 💕

Mouse is a grey and white miniature poodle mix who came to Murci's Mission from SCRAPS. She has an estimated birthdate of 08/10/2020.

Mouse is incredibly friendly, walks fine on lead, is decent in a crate, and is ok with other animals. She is doing well with house training, too. What's not to love?

Mouse comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and with a fresh dental. Her adoption fee is $200 and includes a leash, collar, ID tag, food sample, medical records, and a complimentary consultation with a behaviorist to help both parties stick the landing.

🐕 MISSION MUTT MONDAY 🐕

Say hi to Hoodoo! 👋

Hoodoo is a cute and playful Australian Cattle Dog blend weighing in at 35lbs. Hoodoo does well with dogs, cats, and kids.

He came to Murci's Mission after being picked up as a stray and going unclaimed. Hoodoo has an approximate birthdate of 1/21/25.

Hoodoo is an excellent dog who is crate trained, leash trained and house trained. 🙌 He is agreeable and mild mannered. He could make a seamless transition as a hiking, biking or camping buddy. When folks think of going to the shelter and bringing home an excellent dog, this is the dog they're envisioning.

Hoodoo will come neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, and with a collar, ID, leash, and sample of the food he's been eating.
