This week, one of Mercy Houses’ aftercare homes, which houses program graduates and staff members, was struck by lightning and completely burned to the ground. The home and all of its contents were lost.

We are grateful that all of the residents inside the home are safe and no one was injured.

Please keep Mercy House and those affected by the fire in your prayers as we navigate this situation and determine the next steps in the days ahead.

Short-term Mission Opportunity:

Dakota Mission Trip/Partnership…

Mississippi Baptists have partnered with the Dakota Baptist Convention and their churches over the last 3+ years. Their convention has a new State Convention Director, Lee Merck. He wants to help their pastors and wives have an opportunity to fully engage in their meetings at their state convention. They are looking for a small team to help do childcare program for 20-30 kids during their convention meetings October 8-9 in Fargo, ND. If you have a few who would like to help, please contact Chad McCord: [email protected] this week. Not sure how many spots are still available?

If you are looking for more ways to serve while in the Dakotas, since this is only a 2-day event, Lee Merck mentioned they could help find other opportunities to serve.
