The Youth Aeronautics Educational Foundation's programs are designed to pique youth interest in STEM

YAEF plans to build a path for motivated youth to achieve their dreams in aviation. At the high school level, enhanced technology-based teaching and learning is essential in leading students to undergraduate studies in engineering, science and math. A working partnership with Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, Home School Associations, Middle Peninsula Regional Airport, parents, volunteers, and community support will ensure students remain engaged in the learning process throughout their high school years.

The Youth Aeronautics Educational Foundation (YAEF) is excited and grateful to receive a Fall 2026 grant from the Williamsburg Community Foundation!

This generous support will help us expand our drone program, providing more youth in our community with hands-on learning experiences and exposure to exciting, life-changing career opportunities in aviation, drone technology, and coding. This grant brings us one step closer to making those opportunities a reality!

🚁✨ YAEF BRINGS DRONE TECHNOLOGY AND CODING TO LIFE! ✨🚁
The Youth Aeronautics Educational Foundation (YAEF) was excited to host an engaging and educational event at Reality Link for students from N.S.B.E. Jr.!
The students had an opportunity to experience the excitement of flying drones while receiving an introduction to the world of coding. 💻🛸 Through hands-on learning, they explored technology, developed new skills, and discovered exciting possibilities in aviation and STEM education.
At YAEF, we believe that aviation is a powerful tool to motivate youth, inspire curiosity, and open doors to future opportunities. We are proud to help young minds learn, explore, and reach for the sky! ✈️🌟
A special thank-you to Reality Link and everyone who helped make this experience possible!
The future is bright, and these young minds are ready to soar! 🚀

The Youth had an incredible opportunity to experience aviation firsthand by taking exploratory flights thanks to Tom Dunlap of Tidewater Flying Club and Harry Ward, CFI (YAEF).

We’re also excited to announce that a few students have been selected for the YAEF 2027 Aviation Ground School class! 🎓✈️

We’re proud to support the next generation of aviators and can’t wait to see where their aviation journey takes them!
