🐾 Last Tuesday, 25 kittens left for another rescue. ❤️

Some had been in foster homes, while others were still outside waiting for help. Seeing that many kittens move on to the next stage of their journey was something I was incredibly grateful for. They now have more resources, more opportunities, and a better chance at finding the loving homes they deserve.

For 25 kittens, expenses include:

💉 Vaccinations
🐛 Deworming
🩺 Wellness exams
✂️ Spay/neuter surgeries
🧪 Testing when needed
💊 Medications and treatment for illness
🥫 Food and supplies
🐱 Litter and cleaning supplies

Even at rescue pricing, the total for 25 kittens can quickly climb into the thousands of dollars when I have close to zero dollars.

As much as I wish we could keep and help every single cat and kitten ourselves, partnerships with other rescues are sometimes what make saving lives possible. By working together, more animals get the care they need, and more lives can be saved.

But the truth is, it's taken me several days to find the words for this update.

In the midst of everything, we also lost two kittens. 💔

One passed away while in foster care. The other was a kitten I rushed to the emergency vet at 2am hoping with everything I had that we could save her but I knew it was not going to end well. I sat with him, held him, and loved him until the very end. 🌈

Rescue is full of moments that don't fit neatly into a single post. There are victories and heartbreaks, sometimes on the very same day.

While I am so thankful for the 25 kittens who now have a brighter future ahead of them, my heart is also carrying the weight of the two we couldn't save.

I'll share more about those little ones when I've had a little more time to process everything. And share more about the individual groups when/if I have the time.

For now, I just wanted to update everyone and say thank you. Thank you to the fosters, transporters, donors, supporters, and everyone who continues to stand behind this mission. 🤍 Your support makes it possible to keep going, even on the hard days. Some days rescue feels like celebrating and grieving at the same time. This has been one of those weeks. ❤️

I have two transports available for tomorrow now thanks to Angelina Moe and Robbin Jane Riley. It shall be figured out with their help!!!

If anyone is available in the morning to go and pick kittens from locations and bring them to the transports house, I will accept that! You'll have to be comfortable walking into my house to get the kittens from my bathroom hahah.

🚨🚨 URGENT SOS - LAST MINUTE TRANSPORT NEEDED TOMORROW 🚨🚨

I just got incredible news 13 minutes ago that has sent me into full panic mode.

The rescue I've been working with (and absolutely adore) has confirmed they can take 25 of the 30 kittens currently in my care. This is an absolutely life-changing opportunity for these babies, and I cannot let it slip away. All of their fosters can take them but the only intake date that works for them is TOMORROW!!!

These 25 kittens will receive:
🐾 Veterinary care
🐾 Vaccinations
🐾 Any medications they need
🐾 Spay/neuter surgeries
🐾 Safe placement and adoption through rescue

To put this into perspective, spay/neuter alone would cost me thousands of dollars that I simply do not have. Right now I have virtually no funds left, and there is no way I could provide all of this care for 25 kittens on my own. This rescue stepping up is an enormous blessing.

The problem: I work from 7:00 AM until midnight tomorrow and am supposed to be at my company's outing as well. I am literally leaving work right now to start gathering kittens because this came together so unexpectedly.

🚨 WHAT I DESPERATELY NEED 🚨

➡️ A VERY reliable transport to Des Moines tomorrow.

The kittens need to arrive by approximately 12:30 PM, and arriving a little earlier would be even better. They said the earlier the better

➡️ I may also need help gathering and loading kittens in the morning if anyone is available.

This is one of those moments where a single volunteer can completely change the lives of dozens of animals. If you can help with transport, helping gather kittens, or know someone trustworthy who can, please message me ASAP.

I am beyond grateful for this rescue and this opportunity. Now I just need help getting these babies there.

Urgent Foster Needed for Two Sweet Kittens

Hello! My foster who is currently caring for these two lovely babies is going out of town tomorrow and needs someone to step in and watch them while she is away.

A rescue may be taking them soon, but regardless, they need to be picked up from the current foster's home and have a safe place to land in the meantime.

I'm also actively working on trapping two more kittens from the same litter and would love to keep the siblings together if I'm able to catch them. For now, though, it's just these two needing placement.

If you can help foster temporarily or would like more information, please reach out. Even a short-term safe space would make a huge difference for these little ones. ❤️🐾

Hi everyone. I have had an emergency come up and I need a transport immediately. I have two little kittens in my bathtub that are supposed to go to their forever home today. I was supposed to borrow my friend's car but she has a loaner. I don't have a car and don't have a way to take these kittens. The kittens are going two hours away and I know that's a lot to ask but I really need the help. I can help with gas money.

🚨 Trailer Park Cat Project: We Need Help to Finish the Job

Hi everyone,

I’ll be making a more detailed update about the trailer park cats soon. Things are a bit chaotic right now, but I wanted to reach out because I am officially out of funds.

Thanks to Jerry Kurash and his friends raising money for the trailer park kitties, we were able to get a LOT accomplished. However, there are still a few cats left. If we don't get the last ones fixed, the cycle can restart very quickly and undo much of the progress we've made.

I also don't currently have a vehicle that's reliable for long-distance trips, so I would love to coordinate appointments around the availability of volunteer transporters.

My trapping schedule is:

• Sunday nights for Monday morning appointments
• Wednesday nights (I get off work at 7:30 PM) for Thursday morning appointments
• Thursday nights for Friday morning appointments

If any of those times work for you and you're willing to help transport, please let me know. I need to move quickly to stay ahead of the curve.

I know of at least two more litters. One litter is already reaching the age where the kittens may be too old to socialize, so getting them fixed as soon as possible is critical. The mother has already been spayed. The second litter I'm still trying to locate so I can determine the kittens' ages.

I believe there are approximately five outdoor adult cats left to trap and fix. On top of that, there are owned cats that are allowed outdoors and remain unaltered. Those cats also contribute to the problem and need to be addressed.

I need help identifying every cat in the park. I've spent countless hours driving through the area at all times of day, taking photos and tracking cats to make sure none are missed. If you live there, know someone who lives there, feed cats there, or have cats that spend time outdoors there, please send me photos and contact information as soon as possible. I need photos of any and all cats anyone has seen at the park. If anyone wants to spend time out there and take pictures, that would be awesome. I know I am missing some.

Soo, right now, I need:

🐾 Monetary donations to continue funding spay/neuter appointments
🐾 Reliable transport so I can schedule more appointments
🐾 Help gathering information and identifying cats in the park

We've come too far to stop now. Every cat we fix prevents countless more kittens from being born into a difficult life. Life out there is not easy. All of the kittens from there have been very sick. Same with the adults. On top of that, people are shooting them with BB guns I've buried a few that have been hit. I've seen people purposely swerve at them. 😭💔. Update. Got lots of messages. Working on getting through them but I can safely say she has a place to land tonight. If we can get the others, I will need someone for them too.

I have a runt kitten that needs human intervention. He has just been sitting out there. Doesn't seem to be interested in the water. I need someone to take him in.

I hate to ask AGAIN but I have 29 kittens I'm caring for right now. I am trying to find placement for all of them and get the mom's fixed.

I am incredibly grateful to my mom and sister for stepping up to help Cerro Gordo TNR during a time when we desperately need it.

Cerro Gordo TNR is completely out of funds, and every dollar we bring in goes right back into helping cats through spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, medical care, food, and supplies. The need hasn't stopped, but the money has. I have 29 kittens right now that I am caring for and they are not cheap.

For the entire month of June, Psychedelic Stains & Crystals is donating 50% of all sales from their cat-themed merchandise directly to Cerro Gordo TNR. They have all kinds of fun cat items available, including crystal cats, 3D-printed cats, cat magnets, pins, stickers, hair accessories, tarot cards, and so much more. Foster found.!!! Thank you everyone. Working on replying to folks today. This week being on call has kicked my butt though.
🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED TONIGHT FOR 3 KITTENS 🚨

Once again, while I was releasing cats back at the trailer park, I found more kittens.

The second I stepped onto the porch, little faces were sitting there staring at me. There was absolutely no way I could leave them behind. Thankfully, they don't appear to be severely sick, but they do have eye issues that need treatment. I believe these are the siblings of the two kittens I picked up the other day.

They are approximately 6. They should be eating wet food, but I would still recommend mixing in KMR to help make sure they're getting everything they need. I have the eye medication they need, and I will provide the KMR as well.

I am currently heading home, to clean kennels and traps. really need somewhere for these babies to go tonight. I am on call at my job and can get called in at any moment and work 12 hours the next 4 days.

They're trying very hard to act spicy, but honestly, they aren't. They just have no idea what's going on. They hissed at me for a second, but once I picked them up, they settled down pretty quickly. One of them is still committed to the spicy act, but overall they're just scared little babies.

Unfortunately, most of my fosters are completely full right now, and I have kittens at practically every foster home. If anyone can step up and take these three, even temporarily, it would help me out tremendously.

🚨 NEED SOMEONE TO PICK UP 5 CATS FROM CEDAR BEND IN WATERLOO TODAY BETWEEN 3:30–5:30 PM 🚨

Judy Zeigler Marquardt is coming in clutch again and taking 2 cats to Sheffield today, and lovely Carol McGuire Mcclemons and her husband are taking 5 cats to Cedar Bend for me. I seriously appreciate these people more than they know. ❤️

The problem is, I currently do not have anyone able to pick the cats up from Cedar Bend afterward. If anyone is available to help with pickup, please let me know ASAP.

If someone is willing to let me borrow their vehicle, I’d be happy to drive down there myself. I’m just not sure my car is a good idea for the trip right now. Lol

I’m also scrambling trying to get aftercare set up because I have to move everything over to my good friend’s garage since mine is getting way too hot. I ended up buying a $300 portable AC unit last night and just got it set up over there so the cats can recover comfortably and safely.

I just really need help with pickup so I can get all of this finished and ready in time. Thank you so much to everyone who has been helping me keep this going. ❤️

Just need someone to pick up the 5 from Waterloo!!! The earliest they can be picked up after surgery is 2:30. The latest those five can be picked up is 3:30. I can provide tarps to lay in the back of whoever's car. Let me know wea if anyone can help.

Or is anyone able to transport 5 cats to Cedar Bend?? They have to be there by 9:00 am. My car is likely going to blow up soon 😅
