Mashpee Women's Club The Mashpee Women's Club is a social and charitable organization located in Mashpee, Massachusetts.

As a not-for-profit organization, the Mashpee Women's Club supports various charitable projects, and each one holds special importance to us. We welcome women from all Cape Cod towns as well as those from the other side of the bridge. We provide an opportunity for women to gather and enjoy good company, good dining, a host of activities, and to add to and contribute to the life of our communities.

The August luncheon, featuring Sheryl Faye as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, was held on Tuesday, August 18th at New The Club at New Seabury. Sheryl captivated the audience as she portrayed RGB as a young teen, aspiring lawyer, wife and mother and Supreme Court justice.

This month's Getting To Know You speaker was Amie of Amie's Bakery and Academie in Osterville. Check out her website to learn more about Amie's specialties and classes.

We thanked and said goodbye to departing board members who served for a long time. These women spent many years volunteering for positions on our board that help keep this organization strong and successful.

Barbara Marchio, President, 2024-2026. Barbara will serve as Presidential Advisor for the next two years.

Kathryn Schwartz, Treasurer. Kathryn served as treasurer for six years.

Carolyn Holmes. Carolyn served 13 years on the board as Book Club committee chair, Program Chair, Centerpieces, Fashion Show chair. She will continue to help with centerpieces and the Fashion Show.

This month’s greeters were Terry Cordo, Sharon Avis, Diane Tierney, Susan Creed and Joan Ford.

Raffle sales volunteers were Julie Kennedy, Kathy Rippy, Linda Kaverud and Deb Longchamps.

Join us in September in the Poppy Tent for a demonstration on how to arrange supermarket flowers look like a professional arrangement featuring MWC member, Yvette Shakespeare.

The Mashpee Women’s Club met on Tuesday, July 21st at The Tent at the Popponesset Inn. The program this month was “What Do You Do At Five O’Clock?” presented by Susan Ferriman Jenkins. Susan brought a lot of insight and inspiration to the group.

The Getting to Know You speaker was Stacy Olson of Forever. She talked about the importance of storing photos and important papers correctly.

This month was the MWC’s Annual Meeting. President Barbara Marchio presented the slate of incoming officers and the membership voted on the new slate unanimously.

Special thanks goes to all the folks who help make these monthly luncheons so successful.

The Mashpee Women's Club made two significant donations this week to the following local charities:
Mashpee Food Pantry at Christ The King Church in Mashpee and Cape Kid Meals in Osterville. Each charity received $1,000 thanks to the generosity of our members who purchase raffle tickets at our monthly luncheons.

The Mashpee Women's Club held its annual Fashion Show on Thursday, June 18 at The Club at New Seabury. This annual luncheon is the organization's largest fundraiser which benefits our Scholarship Fund. Over 190 members and guests were in attendance. Again it was a sold-out event. One of our very special members, Lola McCray, celebrated her 100th birthday. Lola has been a member for 30+ years. This year we raffled off 22 Raffle basket and 6 silent auction items. All of these items are donated either by local vendors or our members. There were 32 benefactors who donated additional monies to categorize them as New York, Milan, Paris or Fashionista! Their generosity will help a student with a scholarship. Our program featured numerous vendors throughout our wonderful community who purchased advertising space which will also benefit a local high school student.

But...it is the dedication and tireless work by our volunteers that make this event a success. A very BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers below

A shout-out to our banking partner, Rockland Trust. One of our member's adorable dog got hold of a $20 bill. Our member went to her regular bank who would not do anything to help her. So she went to Rockland Trust where the young man told her, "no worries." He then put the bill back together and exchanged it for another one. Thank You Rockland Trust!!!

The Mashpee Women's Club annual golf outing was held on Tuesday, June 2nd at Holly Ridge Golf Club. The weather was picture perfect and to course was in excellent shape. A good time was had by all.

Many thanks to Cindy Collins for organizing this event. Her helpers, Deb Longchampe and JoAnne Del Greco, raffle and mulligan sales, Maureen Trudnak, registration.

The Mashpee Women's Club would like to express their appreciation to all our wonderfully generous members who participated in A Baby Center's blanket and layette drive honoring Mother's Day at our May luncheon. The photos below depict the depth of your generosity, beautifully hand-made blankets and sweaters, all sorts of layette items, blankets and a very generous amount of cash donations of $500+.

Thank you to Terry Cordo and Mary Liz McCahill for gathering and bringing all the items to Nicole Voci, Program Manager, A Baby Center, Cape Cod Council of Churches.
