"Assassins" is just one week from opening!

We can't wait to share this one with you. The way the story is framed, along with the beautiful and, at times, haunting the music is, we're sure this will become one of your favorite RCF shows of all times!

If you've enjoyed past RCF shows like "Into the Woods," "Twelfth Night," "A View from the Bridge," and "Dark of the Moon" you're going to LOVE "Assassins!"

Get your tickets now to reserve your favorite seats. Opening night will be followed with our traditional meet-the-artists reception with complimentary cake, snacks and wine (or sparkling cider). Saturday Sept 12 is our ASL-Interpreted show.

This show is intended for more mature audiences, so we recommend kids under 16 stay home.

Tickets are available online at https://redcurtainfoundation.org/ or 360.322.7402

Our new season kicks off in just over a week with the fantastic musical, "Assassins."

This story, by Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman, is a darkly comic historical fiction, which places nine men and women from American history who tried--or succeeded--to assassinate a US president, in a sort of limbo. These characters are then able to interact and share their stories, songs and more.

The show is a fascinating exploration of these people, based in fact yet peppered with enough fiction and whimsy to keep the story from getting too heavy. The play does not advocate assassination, nor does it try to place these characters as victims. Sondheim said that his goal with the story is to invite people to meet these characters, and take a glimpse into their world.

Like all Sondheim shows, this musical is filled with rich characters, moments of big laughs and somber silences. Our cast is one of the strongest we've had on the RCF stage, and we know you will be delighted and moved by their talented performances.

Please note that this show does feature more than a dozen fi****ms throughout its runtime, and includes several gunshots both live (blanks) and recorded. The play also addresses mental illness, and includes profanity, moments of gun violence, death, ex*****on and su***de, mostly through a lens of dark humor. We recommend this show for folks 16 years old and up.

"Assassins" runs Sept 11-Oct 4, with Friday and Saturday shows at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $28 for adults, $25 for students, seniors and military. They can be purchased online at https://redcurtainfoundation.org/2026-2027-season or through the RCF Box Office at 360.322.7402

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for our annual fundraising gala, and to folks who helped behind the scenes but couldn't attend.

We'll be posting our successes as soon as we've finished all the accounting malarky. Just know that we are so tremendously grateful for the ongoing support we receive year-round, and especially at the gala. Last night was a terrifically fun celebration of RCF's history and future, and we're so lucky to have you all as part of our big ol' artistic family!

We're having such a thrilling time preparing "Assassins" for opening night. The cast is wildly talented, and the script, story and music are incredibly complex and moving.

"Assassins" isn't a story that glorifies gun violence or celebrates the actions of its historically-based characters. Instead, it offers a chance to hear stories of people struggling with mental health issues, isolation and feelings of abandonment. It beautifully encapsulates our nation's history with mental illness, and the desperation that comes with feeling denied the opportunity for life, liberty and happiness.

Join us this fall for a truly unique theatrical experience as we bring this lesser-known Stephen Sondheim masterpiece to the RCF stage, Sept 11-Oct 4. Tickets are on sale now, $28 for adults, $25 for students, seniors and military.

You can purchase online at https://redcurtainfoundation.org/2026-2027-season or through the RCF Box Office at 360.322.7402
