Attention Actors--WE NEED YOU!

Registrations for the 48 Hour PlayFest are going really well, but we need more actors. Like, a LOT more actors!

This is a super fun, high-energy event where teams get formed at random on Friday night to write, rehearse and perform an original short play (under 15 minutes) by Saturday night.

Last year the teams produced some really clever and creative shows, and the audience feedback was wonderful. We can't wait to recreate that feeling this year with an improved structure and more silliness!

Participants will have the opportunity to stay in the theatre overnight on Friday night, and meals will be provided during Saturday's rehearsals.

So grab your best theatre buddy and a comfy pillow and get signed up for the 2nd Annual 48-Hour PlayFest today!

Volunteer with us!

This weekend is closing for "Rumors," and it's also Marysville's Strawberry Festival and Everett Pride--and we need help at all three events!

Even if you haven't volunteered with us before, it's super simple to sign up and training only takes a few minutes for most jobs.

We especially need:

Concessions and Bartender for Saturday and Sunday at Rumors

Volunteers from 5:30-8:30pm at Strawberry fest on Saturday evening

Please take a look at the opportunities and come help RCF have a successful and busy weekend around town!

Coming up next at RCF is a staged reading of a powerful play, "Wit," by Margaret Edson. The story follows Vivian Bearing, a doctor of literature, as she navigates her life and treatment after being diagnosed with cancer.

"Wit" will perform only twice, June 26 and 27 at 7pm each night. This show is a benefit for the American Cancer Society, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to them, to further cancer research and treatments.

You can purchase your tickets online for this award-winning play by visiting the link below, or through the RCF Box Office at 360.322.7402.

Last July, a bunch of writers, actors, directors and more got together for two days to create 8 original short plays. Thus was born RCF's 48-Hour PlayFest.

To say that this event was a huge hit with everyone involved would be a massive understatement. These playwriting festivals celebrate the work of the writer, and put all of our theatre skills to the test in a somewhat chaotic and super fun format.

How does it work:

1. Sign up using the link below. You can sign up for as many categories as you like, but you will ultimately be chosen for just one job. Must be at least 18 years old to participate.

2. Show up on Friday July 17 at 7pm. This is where teams will be formed at random, and the creative process begins.

3. Stay the night or head home for the evening. Rehearsals resume after an 8am breakfast (provided at the theatre by RCF), and will include stage time for each group, opportunities to search for props and costumes, and a tech rehearsal.

4. At 8;00pm on Saturday, we present these original short plays to an audience for the first time!

5. Everyone goes home to get some well-earned sleep, and returns Sunday for a 2pm performance.

6. After the matinee, we will hold an awards ceremony, and recognize the fruits of the past 48 hours!

So don't miss your chance to be part of the Second 48-Hour PlayFest! Sign up at the link below, and plan to spend July 17-19 making some fantastic original theatre!
